If you read the thread, it's actually listed at 29 million.

It's all about the game.

Yeah, better put your head in the sand when it comes to the fact that most of those games are shovelware.

3 or 4 CoD games should be on the list as well, among others we are probably missing.

ok. You are right. Happy now?
now let's wait a valid argument for someone
The table with conjoined platforms was posted so people could stop whinning about mashing multiple platforms together.
It's clear the top 15 is about individual game sales and individual platform sales. No combining shit.
The fact the Wii alone has many games that sold more than a multiplat title like COD sold across 6 different platforms, tell us much about the power of Nintendo.
That is what is worth discussing.
A group of bullies can beat one guy ? What a fucking surprise.
One guy alone can kick the ass of 5 or 6 dudes ? Wow, lemme meet Bruce Lee.
That's the spirit of the thread. Please kneel and praise Nintendo.
Don't get me wrong, I grew up with Nintendo and I have some fond memories with their games (especially with the SNES).
But if I think about a situation where every gamer would be allowed to play only these 15 games in the whole year 2014... I think that most gamers would be very pissed.
(1) The number 1 spot doesn't even belong there. Wii Sports was BUNDLED with almost every console, so that does not count for all those copies being sold.
(2) Add to the fact that 80% of all 3rd party titles do not even make it to the Gamecube/ Wii., so what else were gamer's to purchase other than 1st party titles.
Your list only validates the reason why 90% of Wii owners having to dust off their Wii's every 6 month and the fact that, your list is EXACTLY why the Wii-U is in the state that it is in at the moment.
I can go down that list and point out many more Wii titles that were almost exclusively bundled with a Wii console. But I will leave that up to someone else......Keep on Gaming.
I've commented on the bundled situation at the beggining of the thread.
Gran Turismo, Gears of War, Forza, were also bundled. So let's separate sales ? Of course not. And people enjoy Wii Sports in general. It isn't the same situation as Kinect Adventures, an horrendous game people hide in their attic, but if they wanted a kinect, they wouldn't have any other option.
That game I agree, should even be counted. But then again, that's not fair.
PlayStation hardware sells more on average than any other brand. 330 million consoles divided on 5 systems (not counting PS4 yet) is about 66 million sales per hardware.
Nintendo's 650 million sales divided by 14 systems equals about 46 million sales per hardware. So, Nintendo's ''success'' is similar to Wii U's current success - they've just been in the industry longer, and thats it.
As for software, take away bundled games and pokemon and the lists is starting to look very different.
