220 to 250 is a pretty low bump though even by Nintendo standards. They tend to bump a little higher than that from Nov to Dec.
I have wii u and I just can't ignore the fact. So I don't have much faith for wiiu. I only want Zelda HD, metroid HD, and ps4. Lol
People who don't get excited about franchising in gaming (i.e. a lot of people who's first ever console was Wii, look at all these franchise titles coming out and say "Aren't these the same games that I bought for my Wii? Why would I buy another console just to play the same games again?" And as far as they're concerned an HD upgrade on those games isn't enough of a difference.
And could you get a more cliche, meaningless, boring, unimaginative, and 90's title for a game than "Super Mario 3D World"?

Because we can legitimately say, this time around: WiiU is just 2 Gamecubes duct taped together. At least Wii had the appeal of waggle, which drove MS and Sony to make Move and Kinect. Now that that's gone, people don't see it worth getting.
Don't give me a games' list either. Mario, Zelda, Smash, Pikmin, Metroid, Mario Kart, etc. didn't save the Gamecube or N64 from being completely dominated, and the SNES was the last time Nintendo had any kind of support outside of itself.

That PS3/Wii U number you're citing is worldwide sales, no? |
yes, it's even worst when you realise the ps3 wasn't out till near the end of march (07) in EU while the wii U was available everywhere during the corresponding period (2013)

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
WiiU had a better launch than 360, but got rather quickly passed by the 360 again after half a year.
The PS3 launched in Europe much later, so that's why the WiiU did more at first. With European sales the PS3 did better.
And yeah it's tracking well below the Gamecube, so that's the main reason I think.
I don't hate the WiiU, but I do know that Nintendo can only win if they play by their own rules (Wii). Playing by Sony/MS's rules.....they don't have a prayer.
| drake4 said: the ps3 numers are so low cause of 2 main reasons, one is the ps3 launched in europe 5 months later, europe is ps3 strongest region, so ps3 1st year numbers don't really show the whole picture and the second reason is 599$, that was way too over priced for a consoel back then. |
Dont forget Wii U has been out longer than a year now and sales arent picking up. Youll see ps3 drasticly pulling ahead from here on out in comparisons

They've never really released a system playing by Sony/MS rules though. The GameCube was the closest and they basically sabotaged that console by changing all their major franchises, losing Rare and not replacing them, and making the system the most toy-like design possible, despite trying to push games like Resident Evil and Metroid Prime.
Unless you mean "playing by MS/Sony's rules" as in losing tons of money on hardware and just considering a it write off?
