Well it didn't really have any real exclusive competition, did it? Considering consoles sales for the month, I'm surprised it's that low. I guess 3rd party games really stood out.

3rd party games are the best games on both systems anyway, Who cares if one has more exclusives or if one system sells more exclusives if there all a mediocre anyway.

I'll use an old excuse I used to hear in the 7th gen. Microsoft fans aren't just into big first person shooters. The Xbox One fanbase is diverse so they purchase multiple genres....even though an FPS is the most purchased game on the system. PS4=ShooterStation.

The only reason Xbox was able to stay afloat is because of a shooter franchise, whereas Sony built the PlayStation on MANY different genres.

He is being sarcastic

Oh god! I feel so stupid! I didn't read the first sentence D:

Sorry D:

Doesn't make your first sentence *any* better or more true.

I'm sorry, but the Xbox would not be where it is today without Halo.

This is not what you said in the first time But who cares anyway by now. Almost 80 million bought the system, check the sales of the game you are talking about and you are easily contradicted.

Though not really.

The psp got a huge boost from monster hunter and you can't simply take 5m out of 80m and say that it moved only 5m consles at best. Halo made xb360 a desirable console to the masses. Even to people who never actually purchased the game. It created momentum and word of mouth for the console. Again, same with Pokemon. Tons of threads of excited users for the new Pokemon creates interest for the console.

If you speak to anyone who has studied marketing (at uni or follows it carefully), they'll probably tell you that the impact of a single game on hardware cannot be determined based solely on its sales.

When #driveclub was announced, a few people gave a damn. When it was delayed, many cancelled their pre-order, not because the cared about the game, but because they wanted to justify their purchase and they couldn't with such a weak launch line-up.

Plus you don't know how many people bought a xb360 and illegally downloaded the game or bought a used copy.

The way I see it, it works like a chain. 5 people buy an xb360 for Halo and 10 of their friends feeling like buying an 360 too, so that they can all have the same console. They might end up buying COD instead, but it has the indirect influence of Halo that made them buy a 360. I think South Park nailed it on kids' influence one another.

I don't say it doesn't have an effect but you can't say the whole success relies on only one game/franchise. Not with such a difference in sales.

The illegal argument and buying bought applies to every system seller, e.g. Gran Turismo.

Oh, I actually try to be very careful with my words and I most certainly did not say that. All I'm saying is that we can never know the extent to which a certain game helped a console. In other words, I simply wanted to express my disagreement with your (bolded) statement. Those number dimply don't tell enough. I still remember the huge buzz about Final Fantasy vii when I was a kid and I never got around playng the game. But the sheer momentum that that game created for psone cannot be denied.
Also, about Gran Turismo, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't torrentfreak (or whatever it's called) announce the most pirated games of each year and ps3 games are nowhere to be found? Again, not sure if memory serves, but I think Kingdom of Amalur failed to make a profit, but the 360 version was one of the most pirated games in 2012.

Like i've said before. Ps4 had less launch exclusives
less games = higher chances of higher sales
more games = higher chances of less sales
xbox gamers have more to choose from so obviously sales would be lower.

Did you know ps4 only supports a 2.4 wireless signal?

The xbox one supports a wireless adapter capable of 2.4 - 5.0ghz.

The ONLY next gen console to do so.

Given Killzone is a popular shooter and it was the only noteworthy exclusive on PS4, its no surprise it performed better than other exclusives.

Well if the console sold more and this is like the only good exclusive available on it, why would you expect anything different?

Now I'm actually not impressed by KZ numbers to be honest. Even if it is not the best game out there, it is still a shooter and being the only good exclusive during the launch window I was expecting it to do way better than that...

Sony had an extra week or two to sell product. Remember that year advantage we all talked about before for MSFT? It applies here too, Sony had a head start.

Lets not be hypocrites.

None of these games are even close to as good as AC4. I didn't play Forza, but yeah...

So you must be really disappointed by the xb1 games then?

But its not a good game and it went head on against COD and Battlefield. You think people bought PS4 to play COD in higher resolution? They bought PS4 to experience the next gen feel and Killzone so far is the only game that does that and it really shows the difference between the PS4 and Xbone.

The hype around the game was for its graphics, not any other qualities which the game was lacking
