I believe that as a result of stock being spread over 33 countries the PS4 may fall slightly behind in the US. But will inevitably create a large gap between itself and the Xbox One in the US,

COD Ghosts is not selling as well as previous games. And thats with 2 extra skus. COD is on the decline. Perfect time for a new IP in its place.

Dont put words in my mouth kid. I wrote underperform, and more exactly compared to fanboy expectations. I did not say flop. It will do good numbers, but it will not be the next CoD. Its not the next Halo and it will not be enough to push the Xbone ahead of the PS4, especially after next year after the Sony exclusive onslaught begins

which when you get behind the hyperbole in forums and look at the facts is a pretty barmy thing to say.

 


I do stand by that claim. In mainland EU the Xbox brand is pretty much lost and was lost before the 2 were launched. Even in the UK the PS4 will outsell the Xbone. Its the de-facto console at the moment, and I doubt that anything will change that. Every poll I read states the same, and its obvious that by next year the PS4 will have an uncachable lead. Its sold out everywhere and the fact that its hard to find cements it even more as a must-have item.

The US is a different thing altogether, it can still go either way, tough I still have my doubts that in the long run Titanfall will be the deciding factor.

Your view is too polarised "Xbox brand is pretty much lost".  Xbox aint dying, sorry.  You are saying things amid the hype of a million internet fanboys who think everyone thinks the way they do.

 


I never stated that. Its obvious that it will have a healthy run in the US. But thats about all it will have this gen. Things can turn around, I know, but at the moment I still stand by my prediction.

Obviously no prediction can be 100% certain.

This really depends on how MS and Sony supply their consoles across their launch markets...

X1 is only shipping in 13 countries while PS4 is in above 30 countries. and it looks like MS is going to delay further rollouts while Sony is going to continue to spread itself out...

It is only logic that if both manufacturers are only capable of producing (about) Y number of consoles that in a market like the US where MS has a strong presence they will sell just as much if not more than Sony assuming they are allocating their consoles to less countries.

Also, MS may allocate more consoles to the US because demand is strong there and maybe not as strong in other countries, whereas Sony might choose not to because their demand may be too strong in every country...

Assuming demand is outpacing supply for both consoles in the US, Sony will probably find themselves falling behind MS in the US. Simply because they are shipping in more countries and may not be able to allocate as much supply to the US market due to the demand in other countries.

It is a difficult issue for Sony. If they start to give US more supply then other countries this could be seen as ignoring other markets they have entered. MS could use that as a marketing tool in the other countries to increase their demand.
