Forums - Sales - Can the Xbone dethrone the PS4 in the USA?

What i think is both PS4 and Xbox One have their 5-10 million fanboys (in the best meaning), and they will buy his prefered console anyway, like what happened with WiiU. Right now, we are not seeing which one has more demand, but which one is capable of produce more, and it seems both are tied in that regard.

What will be interesting is what happens when PS4 and Xbox One surpass those numbers and start producing enough to meet demand. I think PS4 will start being more sold than Xbox One by quite margin...but the question now is, when both companies will start doing it...

Microsoft are doing incredibly well. $100 more than PS4 and tracking higher.

I expect even at $100 more the Xbox One will overtake the PS4 before the end of the year in US. Also Im surprised how good Xbox One is doing in EU considering how many more countries PS4 is available in.

Microsoft are in a great position.

I thought about the preorder thing before they came out some more. PS4 was obviously higher. But that was obviously down to PS4 having preorders in countries where Xbox One was not available on Nov 22nd.

Xbox One is looking awesome. And its only in 13 countries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is opinion. But I believe the lineup for Xbox One next year is better on exclusives ( disc based titles or AAA ). And now they have the less significant indies on board also. After all its cheaper to develop for an indie dev on Xbox One.

Anyone who thought PS4 had it or is close to having it will be I believe shown to be very wrong by this time next year.

Titanfall will sell huge to COD fans. Watch the preorders go nuts in late Jan through to March. And it will be a system seller to Xbox One. Because less players and half sized maps on 360 is gimped to hell.

Get on Xbox One. You deserve this success.

Tracking higher? Uh where? PS4 is sold out, if it is *tracking* higher anywhere, it's the US alone due to supply constraints.

The rest of your thoughts are hilarious tainted with fanboyistic fealty to your idol with absolutely no foundation upon which to stand.

Then again, this is par for the course for you.

I hate to point out the obvious.

Your in a US thred.

I said Xbox One is tracking higher. In a US thread that obviously mean US.

Also the Xbox One is supply constrained also. That doesnt detrat from the fact in sales to consumers with both supply constrained Xbox One will overtake by christmas.

I'd estimate that Sony will maintain it's lead until at least next holiday season. M$ will drop the price to $399 once Halo 5 arrives and should be able to pull ahead by end of December 2014.

If M$ does release a Kinectless Xbone after the Holidays at $399, I'd assume they will surpass  PS4 sales in N.A by Spring.

WTF?

Xbox One will outsell PS4 in america at least 100,000 a week. It will be over before Christmas 2013. Titanfall will push that gap way beyond Sonys reach.

Eh, no. That's a stretch

W/E 7th December ( not black friday )

Xbox One outsold PS4 in US by 110,000.

Its only 200,000 behind.

It will be over by Christmas day.

PS4 is more supply constrained than Xbox One

Doubt it :D What will be the next saviour after Titanfall undeldelivers? Halo 5... maybe 6?

Even if it somehow the Xbone pulls ahead in the US, on a worldwide basis the Xbox brand is already on life support

You think it will be a head world wide after titan fall arrives or just america?

Us without a doubt. That will happen before Xmas this year. WW? Who knows. UK definately. Xbox One is doing great here. EU though is anyones game. But availability will be key. Ryse kind of games are a good thing for EU. Many in EU like Ryse. Microsoft need to keep those kind of non FPS games coming to win EU. 2014 they are doing just that. So they are in a tremendous position. And making more profit than Sony on every console sold. Price difference means nothing at this point. My Game Manager friend said people are already questioning whats next instore for PS4 as its currently all shooters. The indie stuff isnt really interesting these people either. He actually expects a few trade in PS4's over the next couple of months. People are eying up action/adventure games like Ryse and DR3. Also many questions about FM5 from non Xbox owners in his experience so far. Interesting times.

I dunno only 63k in Europe this week, thats pretty bad for so soon after launch and it being the xmas period, it could be stock shortages, but i doubt it. My local Tesco always has xbox one stock and on weekends it even has a woman from MS ( In a MS Jumper ), activley trying to sell it to shoppers, PS4 is always sold out.

But in my opinion all opionions at this point are massive speculation, its just far too early to tell anything.

Will be intersting to see if Sony annouce when they pass 3M like they did with 1 and 2, but im thinking they might not announce anything till January now.

Your forgetting that Xbox One has released in way less EU countries than PS4. So that figure is actually really impressive. And like PS4 is supply constrained.

I can get anyone a PS4 at the moment in Plymouth Game New George Street. They have 4 left from a delivery on Tuesday. They recieved 12. Its now Thursday. Also 1 Preowned PS4 available at this store.

This is quite funny.  Life support?

Love how so many people think Titanfall is going to flop too.

Dont put words in my mouth kid. I wrote underperform, and more exactly compared to fanboy expectations. I did not say flop. It will do good numbers, but it will not be the next CoD. Its not the next Halo and it will not be enough to push the Xbone ahead of the PS4, especially after next year after the Sony exclusive onslaught begins

Says someone that joined today.  Yet another alt from you know who.  Your style is so obvious.

You may need another alt to post again though.  Bye.

OT

It is far too early to answer this EITHER WAY.

I cannot stand alt accounts. Reported, and this is something I'll openly express that I'll do in regards to alt accounts. Hopefully that makes you feel better because it makes me feel better. Sorry to go off topic.

How do you know?

Both companies say they are selling out as soon as they hit stores.

Anecdotal evidence?

Works both ways. If your in UK and want a PS4 I can get you one now. Theres 4 in my local Game shop that have been there since Tuesdays delivery where they had 12. And one Preowned PS4 for £20 cheaper.

Yep.  How wise is it to have stock in the middle east next week versus stock in the USA this christmas?

You dont have to answer as its blatantly obvious what the answer is.

It isn't obvious. Maybe they sell it for a higher price there? Profits better there? Checking PSN plus prices right now, it is more expensive in the Middle East. Maybe the same goes for games too. Too little data to judge.

I don't get the obsession of selling more in the US. Selling more units is more important.

And "dethrone" ? Way too early for such threads.

Quote saved for Xmas 2014. Titanfall will sell huge to COD fans. Especially US. And PS4 has released in alot more countries in EU than Xbox One so far. Xbox is in a great position. Aus was Sony's, yet Xbox One is setting records in AUS not the PS4. Interesting times indeed.
