Forums - Sales - Can the Xbone dethrone the PS4 in the USA?

I'd estimate that Sony will maintain it's lead until at least next holiday season. M$ will drop the price to $399 once Halo 5 arrives and should be able to pull ahead by end of December 2014.

If M$ does release a Kinectless Xbone after the Holidays at $399, I'd assume they will surpass  PS4 sales in N.A by Spring.

WTF?

Xbox One will outsell PS4 in america at least 100,000 a week. It will be over before Christmas 2013. Titanfall will push that gap way beyond Sonys reach.

Eh, no. That's a stretch

I would agree but we don't know if the PS4 sales are due to supply contraints yet (who knows what they will ship to retailers between now and Christmas) and $499.99 will be harder to push on the consumer during the Jan-Feb months. I could be wrong but best estimate would be post Titanfall launch for an Xbone lead.

I expect even at $100 more the Xbox One will overtake the PS4 before the end of the year in US. Also Im surprised how good Xbox One is doing in EU considering how many more countries PS4 is available in.

Microsoft are in a great position.

I thought about the preorder thing before they came out some more. PS4 was obviously higher. But that was obviously down to PS4 having preorders in countries where Xbox One was not available on Nov 22nd.

Xbox One is looking awesome. And its only in 13 countries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is opinion. But I believe the lineup for Xbox One next year is better on exclusives ( disc based titles or AAA ). And now they have the less significant indies on board also. After all its cheaper to develop for an indie dev on Xbox One.

Anyone who thought PS4 had it or is close to having it will be I believe shown to be very wrong by this time next year.

Titanfall will sell huge to COD fans. Watch the preorders go nuts in late Jan through to March. And it will be a system seller to Xbox One. Because less players and half sized maps on 360 is gimped to hell.

Get on Xbox One. You deserve this success.

Tracking higher? Uh where? PS4 is sold out, if it is *tracking* higher anywhere, it's the US alone due to supply constraints.

The rest of your thoughts are hilarious tainted with fanboyistic fealty to your idol with absolutely no foundation upon which to stand.

Then again, this is par for the course for you.

nope, that's not going to happen. both consoles are neck and neck right now. If those reports of retailers getting more ps4's than before are true, i think the ps4 could pull slightly ahead. TItanfall will be huge, but so will Infamous, also, watch-dogs and Destiny will be marketed as ps4 exlusives. Then at the end of the year, Halo will be doing battle against The Order, and maybe Uncharted. I think the sales for both consoles will be close during holiday season, but i think the ps4 will have higher weekly sales than the xbox one because of it's price.

You think it will be a head world wide after titan fall arrives or just america?

Us without a doubt. That will happen before Xmas this year. WW? Who knows. UK definately. Xbox One is doing great here. EU though is anyones game. But availability will be key. Ryse kind of games are a good thing for EU. Many in EU like Ryse. Microsoft need to keep those kind of non FPS games coming to win EU. 2014 they are doing just that. So they are in a tremendous position. And making more profit than Sony on every console sold. Price difference means nothing at this point. My Game Manager friend said people are already questioning whats next instore for PS4 as its currently all shooters. The indie stuff isnt really interesting these people either. He actually expects a few trade in PS4's over the next couple of months. People are eying up action/adventure games like Ryse and DR3. Also many questions about FM5 from non Xbox owners in his experience so far. Interesting times.

This. But really it's quite conceivable that both consoles will about even in North America.  It makes good discussion, but I hope no one gets their panties in a wad (Yeah, that's wishful thinking.)

I dunno only 63k in Europe this week, thats pretty bad for so soon after launch and it being the xmas period, it could be stock shortages, but i doubt it. My local Tesco always has xbox one stock and on weekends it even has a woman from MS ( In a MS Jumper ), activley trying to sell it to shoppers, PS4 is always sold out.

But in my opinion all opionions at this point are massive speculation, its just far too early to tell anything.

Will be intersting to see if Sony annouce when they pass 3M like they did with 1 and 2, but im thinking they might not announce anything till January now.
