Works both ways. If your in UK and want a PS4 I can get you one now. Theres 4 in my local Game shop that have been there since Tuesdays delivery where they had 12. And one Preowned PS4 for £20 cheaper.


Because it only sold 100K units. New consoles always sell out before Christmas, and the only logical reason for this that I can think of is very limited stock.

If both consoles had shipped 500K units, I'm sure both would have sold out just the same.

But, there is more demand for PS4, so I'm assuming Sony will push as many shipments as it can into North America, moreso than Microsoft with the Xbox One.

Also, you're discounting selling power of PS4 exclusives.

W/E 7th December ( not black friday )

Xbox One outsold PS4 in US by 110,000.

Its only 200,000 behind.

It will be over by Christmas day.

PS4 is more supply constrained than Xbox One

If they are going to sell out either way, it's not going to make that big of a difference.

It isn't obvious. Maybe they sell it for a higher price there? Profits better there? Checking PSN plus prices right now, it is more expensive in the Middle East. Maybe the same goes for games too. Too little data to judge.

I don't get the obsession of selling more in the US. Selling more units is more important.

And "dethrone" ? Way too early for such threads.

Just saying, we don't have enough data to know for certain. MS strategy could be better for all I know. You made a point once about diminishing multi console owners which I agreed with. Both companies need to ship as many consoles as soon as possible. Exciting times!

Dont put words in my mouth kid. I wrote underperform, and more exactly compared to fanboy expectations. I did not say flop. It will do good numbers, but it will not be the next CoD. Its not the next Halo and it will not be enough to push the Xbone ahead of the PS4, especially after next year after the Sony exclusive onslaught begins

which when you get behind the hyperbole in forums and look at the facts is a pretty barmy thing to say.

 


I do stand by that claim. In mainland EU the Xbox brand is pretty much lost and was lost before the 2 were launched. Even in the UK the PS4 will outsell the Xbone. Its the de-facto console at the moment, and I doubt that anything will change that. Every poll I read states the same, and its obvious that by next year the PS4 will have an uncachable lead. Its sold out everywhere and the fact that its hard to find cements it even more as a must-have item.

The US is a different thing altogether, it can still go either way, tough I still have my doubts that in the long run Titanfall will be the deciding factor.

Considering supply issues and the fact that what we're witnessing right now are the hardcore fans, Christmas shoppers, and early adopters in general I'd say that we won't have any good grasp on how the consoles are stacking up to each other until the end of March at the earliest. Until the shopping and launch crazes are both over and supply constraints are no longer a factor this really is just a bunch of fools comparing genital sizes that aren't all that impressive.

Depends of the "largest shipment ever" for ps4 next week, if that week xbox one is ahead, it's a safe bet until the holiday
