Forums - Sony Discussion - Final Update! GT6 Global Bombs (N.A, EU and Japan)!! 34% of GT5 Opening Week

How are those "bomb" sales. They are not as good as GT5 but they are still good sales.

So when a new game in a franchise opens up lower then its predecessor it's a bomb? Good to know. Then i'll have this tagged for later then. :)

No need to wait, head on over to Nintendo forum where quite a few threads have been made about SM3DW being a failure when it only managed to sell 700,000 + (VG numbers) in it's first two weeks on a console that only has a little over 4 million users.

Ahh so this is your revenge thread then?  Now I get it, carry on.

Why yes, yes it is,lol. I am quite the Sony fan myself but this needed to be done.

Yet will still out sell the last 2 forza games combined....Every second Gt game sells lower then the first of a gen.

lol some of the responses are pretty familiar

Role reversed? I find it a bit amusing (Only reason I entered this thread). Now back to not caring about the sales of either games.

and Sony thought it was better to release GT6 on PS3 because of the larger user base......

As has been said numerous times already they didn't need to create a new engine or go through the teething process to get the title out the door. GT5 made some serious bank, GT6 will just be the cherry on the cake. Even if it only sells 4 million, it's probably making Sony a lot of money.

The other option would be to jump straight to next gen, release GT6 on the PS4 in 2014-2015 while the install base is still rather low, and have another situation where there is up to 5 years between GT releases.

This way, they can probably get GT7 out on the PS4 by holidays 2016, with a 30m+ install base, less competition for Sony's other racing titles (Driveclub), more time with the new tech, and a longer period for consumers to get excited about a next gen GT. I think it was the right choice, if even initially it didn't look like it.

Now sales matter again? LOL.

Also, this is not a bomb.  It isn't selling as well as GT 5 but still far from bomb status.

I don't believe it was necessary to point once again that Sony games don't sell on Sony systems, as Rol has been stating. Or do I need?

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Gran Turismo will still the best selling racing ip on console and 8 millions sales worldwide is a give.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I would think someone jumped the gun on sales interpretation.

Japan is not about home consoles. Its about portables.
