I think the OP is being a bit hasty.
Comparing an one year old system that lacked games for most of it`s current lifespan to systems who were 5 years on the market, is a bit unfair.

About the games, i only consider the 1st and 2nd party games and not exclusives (if not, X, Bayonetta 2, Lego City, etc.)

Regarding N64: Starfox 64 is a tough call as it started on SNES. Although there`s a big difference in graphics you have to remember that the difference between SNES and N64 was like night and day.

GC: Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing started on N64 - and HM is not even a 2nd party game, so it shouldn`t count.
I would add Wind Waker to GC as it did change the Zelda formula a lot.

On Wii U you should count Super Mario 3D World. No 3D Mario on a home console is like this one.
Also, NintendoLand.

How is Mario 3D World so different.  Not being sarcastic, I am actually curious.

Honestly, you have to play it to see how different it is. There`s a reason it`s getting such good reviews.
I played every 3D Mario game on a home console and each one of them, even Sunshine, was like no other before it. The gameplay is just that different.

And thats part of the problem right there you HAVE to play to see the difference. Now how much people are even able to do that? To the layman it looks like another Mario and they will most likely just skip it. Contrast that to Titanfall and you dont have to play it to see the difference between that and say COD or BF or Bioshock or any other FPS

Is 3d World that much different from Land? im asking cause i dont know i loved 3d land myself.

Way different from 3D Land, and way better than 3D Land.

just play the damn game, and you will see why its so good.

you gave me no information at all and im not about to buy a console just to play the game on the word of someone from the internet.

Maybe Target will have a station or something

Watch a damn video do something instead of bitching about it not being different when you have not even played it.

you have 0 right to complain about it when you have not even touched the game.

First you tell me to play it (cant really do that) then tell me to watch a video that wont convey the differences anyway since you yourself said you have to play it to get the difference? Yeah makes sense

Oh and FYI the only one here that is complaining is you. I could honestly care less if i play the game now months from now or never. BUt you seem to care alot, stop getting emotional

So a shooter, an open world shooter and another shooter are the new innovative games of this new gen ?

Ok, I think I'm skipping it then.

What point are you trying to make?  You see "Another Open world shooter"  where many of us see a persistant and evolving war with parcour and mech elements that have never been used in an online shooter before.

It would be like calling Little Big Planet "Another Platforming Game."  If you can't see what sets it apart from other games similar to it, then you are the person with the problem.

My point is Half Life 2, Arma, Planetside 2, Far Cry 3, Crysis, you got it.

Those games you mentioned are generic formulas, with new characters. Far from new experiences.

Nothing wrong with that, whatever grinds your gears, but calling those games innovative experiences that you can only have now, on the mid-range powered undercover PC's called "next gen" consoles is kinda funny :)

You want an innovative game in the FPS genre ? Take a look at portal perhaps. Anti chamber also. Now that's innovative and never seen before.

No one said nothing of the sort, stop putting words in my mouth. So no one is innovating, fine. But for some reason people really arent buying what Ninty is selling in terms of home console, but for some reason PS360s sell more, X1 had a better launch and PS4 cant be kept on shelves. So I guess innovationation isnt that important.

And Portal isnt a FPS as you dont shoot anything. Its a FP puzzle game. Did you even play that game?

Sony is relying up on more new IP's which are 12 according to Sony for first year release in 20 games along with old IP's. And more to come from their 14 studios and second paty studios with new content. Also microsoft has 8 new IP's(but some are 3rd party development).

other than evolution studios with drive club. no new Sony owned studio has announced a new IP yet.

But the Wii was carried by Wii Sports alone. An original Nintendo first party IP.

Let's see if down the road the Wii U might get something similar.
