I would say Nintendo is carrying there current consoles

When I pluck down my money on a Playstation console, 3 things I'm certain that I do not have to worry about for the lifetime of the console.

(1) Diversity in genres
(2) New IP's & Lots of Indie Titles
(3) Steady flow of 3rd party titles

Why do I need a Nintendo Box ?

Clue is in the title, nobody mentioned 3DS. And you know exactly what they mean by carrying, (= the hardware doing well)

Whoops didnt notice it said home consoles. Ya I know what he means but it kinda implies that Wii U would be in the same situation without Nintendo software. Imagine how bad Wii U would be selling without NSMBU+Nintendo Land+Luigi U+Wind Waker+Wii Party+Pikmin+3D World. It would be lucky to have passed one million by now.

Well yes you're right, because if pretty much wouldn't have any games without Nintendo software 0_o 2 COD's, 2 AC's, ZombieU, Just Dance and what else??!

Your very basis of argument is invalid predicated on the notion that Nintendo "doesn't innovate anymore", when in fact they've been far more innovative all-around than either Sony or MS.

And the fact that new installments of Uncharted, or God of War, or Gears or War, or Halo, or Forza, or Gran Turismo, or Killzone, etc., do the "same shit over and over".

Besides that, considering the install base, I would say that their big titles are doing just fine, proportionally speaking. In two weeks Mario 3D is already closing in on 1 million copies sold. And Mario Kart and Smash Bros. are absolutely going to carry the console in sales next year. So sorry, but no.

I would include some in Game Cube:
Luigis mansion(completly new)
Metroid Prime(Changed a lot, 2d plataformer to FPA)
Star fox adventures(space ship game changed to a adventure a la zelda)

wii, i would put
Xenoblade
Kirby epic yarn(changed totally from what kirby was)

On wii U i would put
W101 for now

I think gamecube didnt lose a think to N64 in software innovation. But it didnt sell the console.
