I agree with OP,Nintendo, and its fans, think that old games with slightly better graphics will save the system but it will not. What casual fan is going to spend 300 dollars for the Wii U+ 100 dollar fit board to play wii u fit just to have better graphics. It's not gonna happen Nintendo Microsoft has a better chance of making it work because kinect comes with every system.

Yes, it is absolutely unlikely that an average casual gamer is shelling out 250$ (the price of the basic set) and is keeping his Balance board...in contrast to buying a 500$ system.

Genious !

But if you buy the Wii U + the balance board you also have to buy at least a PS4 if not an Xbox One to  fully satisfy your gaming thirsts.

Yes, the "gaming thirst" of the casual demographic.

Goalpost moving !

Casual demographic?

Their software has become irrelevant for the most part and the quality dwindled as well with it.

You're going to need to quantify that, or be moderated for a hit-and-run statement.

Tell me, if their software is truly valuable as people speak of them to be then why is nobody buying their titles ?

You have to define all of these terms. It's also the "quality" part that concerns me.

Yeah, because Pokémon is doing so badly that it's easily passable as irrelavent, as is SM3DL/SM3DW and MK7, or Zelda: ALBW for that matter.

If we define quality as sales then everything becomes simple. We can infer quality from sales and vice versa. I can say that that quality and sales are one in the same because people go out of there way to give something of value in exchange for a product. The market is always looking for quality in a product and quality is once again defined by the market.

Pokemon X/Y 7.8 million in 9 weeks.

Super Mario 3D World 731k in 3 weeks.

New Super Mario Bros 27 million. Mario Kart Wii 34 million. Mariokart 7, 8.6 million in two years. Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon 3 million in less than a year.

That's a lot of nobodys.

If we go by that definition then the sales figures quoted above for those titles speak for themselves. But there are more variables that affect sales than just quality.

Fair enough. I'm just trying to keep the bases covered on these blanket negative statements. There's nothing wrong with having a bad opinion of something, but it has to be defensible.

My statement was not intended to be to trash nintendo and their franchises but to merely paint the reality. It's sad to see nintendo lose greatness such as the WII into something horrific such as the WII U because I owned a WII and and not a PS360. You can not say that each iteration from nintendo are of the same quality much like many of the hardcore gamers because it's clear that many saw alot of quality in mario kart WII compared to mario kart double dash.
