Overtracked by 400k in November in the US alone.

Ah here you are! How're you feeling about our bet? X/Y is already going to be more than 2 thirds of the way there by years end!

I'm super confident about our bet, especially when we know how vgchartz overtracks anything Nintendo.

Wa the hell? Have you been paying attention to VGC lately? everything has been overtracked, and Sony by alot more than nintendo.

Actually, PS3 is pretty spot on for November. That said, vgchartz got slagged hard in that neogaf npd topic when someone brought it up.

What??? Your compaing one month to the entire year, ps3 got adjusted alot this year for being overtracked. 1 time for being over by a mil!

So, you're saying that PS3 got adjusted but is pretty accurate now and that was for the whole world for the whole year? Well, for the month of November, in the US only, the 3DS is overtracked by 0.4M. I can smell another scenario like when Pokemon X/Y was overtracked by 1.5M.

Pokemon XY is overtracked here by about 400k-500k now, its been adjusted, just not all the way.

You're super confident despite the only way you can win now is if the game magically stops selling next year? And all the overtracking in the world wont save ya.

According to this http://www.joystiq.com/2013/12/12/november-npd-ps4-is-top-selling-console-xbox-one-is-fastest/ Nintendo's figures indicated that 3DS sold 770,000 in the US in November and the totals for 3DS surpassed 10.5 million. That means vgchartz overtracked by 238k for the month and about 500k for lifetime sales in the US.

However, vgchartz doesn't always overtrack anything Nintendo. For example: end of October vgchartz Wii U global figures 3.83 mil, Nintendo Wii U global figures 3.91 mil.

Nintendo only count the number shipped to retailers, not sold through to consumers. 80k in stock seems awfully low so it is probably still overtracked in that case.

OT: It would need to do a million per week to get there. Not impossible but November numbers suggest it's pretty unlikely without a MASSIVE boost in Japan. I don't think PADZ will shift that much hardware, it will appeal more to existing owners and Zelda is becoming more and more niche in Japan.

So, I was correct - the 3DS has been overtracked by 400,000 in November in the US. Thank you for proving me right. Go back and look at the weekly numbers for the US on here if you want.

Why do people always say this? They're almost always wrong

Yeah I could be. It's sort of a new frontier Mobile to 3DS ports. It will be interesting to see.

I'd guess 15.5 million for years end. Its November seems to be better than Nov 2012 but worse than Nov 2011 so I'm guessing its Dec will also be in between the two.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I said 238k overtracked for the month, and about 500k overtracked for lifetime sales.  I calculated the 238k as being difference between the 770,000 figure given by Nintendo and the sum of the figures given here for w/e Nov 9 + Nov 16 + Nov 23 + Nov 30 as they stood at the time of my post quoted above. I don't see where you got 400k from, unless there's something I'm missing, or else vgchartz adjusted their figures between the point when you saw them, and the point when I saw them and did my calculation.

I have gone back and looked at the weekly figures for those weeks again just now. It appears that they have been adjusted since I made that calculation. The total for those four weeks in November is now 765k, closer to Nintendo's figure of 770k.

However, the lifetime total as at Nov 30th is now showing on here as 10.77 mil - still higher than the 10.5 mil from Nintendo.

Anyway, overtracked or not, 3DS is showing to have sold 226k in the US for the week to 7th Dec. I doubt it will make 14 mil by year end.
