Forums - Microsoft - PS4 and PS3 timed exclusives confirmed for Xbox One

I could still care less about Indie games but good for those who really want them. I mean you have a PC and I know you don't need that great of a PC to play a lot of these Indie games so I don't get the point of being excited for a console version.

That's nice. I like how it's becoming much easier for Indie developers to release their games.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I was talking about the game in general, but nice try.

So the PS4 gets a limited prototype of the game and the Xbox One gets the full featured expanded version of the game! That doesn't seem fair.

Life isn't always fair.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Update - Speaking to SavyGamer, a Microsoft spokesperson has confirmed that the manufacturer no longer insists that developers release the Xbox Live versions of their games at the same time as other versions.

"We do not require exclusivity agreements. However, we do ask for day one parity with other console game platforms. In instances where games have signed a timed exclusive with another platform, we'll work with them on a case by case basis."

I am really tired so I may be reading this wrong, but I don't understand those two lines.

Microsoft no longer requires developers release Xbox version the same time as other versions.

Microsoft asks developers to release Xbox version the same time as other versions.

Is the difference because the word "requires" has changed to "asks"?  So they mandated it before; and now they just suggest it?

Really, I'm just tagging this thread for later but I may as well comment.  Off the top of my head, i can't think of the specific examples but I remember games coming to PS3 first and thus never being released on Xbox 360. The company made a stink about it, too.

What a thread title, talking about some indie game(s), while the title suggests otherwise doesn't it

Well it's fun. You should watch some let's plays with game grumps or whoever. It's not an in-depth sort of fighting game, but it is fun with friends.

Pathetic it was even a thing to begin with. Still stupid to mandate to developers for day 1 parity as well.

Also "Case by case basis" leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

Also, they seem to indicate they still do insist on it being released the same day and that is horrendous for devs and the industry:

MS needs to change this BS.

But great for their consumers. For them, its about day 1 money, but it also is them wanting their customers to have the game as well, and at the very least the same day as the competition. Nothing wrong with that.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

@sales2099: But its not good for the consumer when devs straight up refuse to release their games on Xbox...which has actually happened quite a few times
