How is that even possible, pezus? The Vita just received its killer app: PS4 remote play. If the PS4 took off, the Vita should fly too.

PS4 is supply constrained in USA, that must be it. PS4 was low too on BF. They seem directly connected.

if this was half true then explain NoA FW sales :P

What's that?

You were stating vita didn't take off cuz ps4 didn't take off (due to supply). Then if that were true (vita suppose to take off as the killer app) i asked why vita didn't take off on ps4 mil+ launch week? http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/41595/USA/

It's clear that Vita is dead. Sony was very stupid in its support for it. I'm afraid that it'll become only a companion for PS4 and it will see less game support. I hope I'm wrong.

I bought a Vita for the niche stuff that Atlus and NIS America will bring over (tasty, tasty Dangan Ronpa) in combination with games like Toukiden.

I will be fine.

Just the fact that Sony said, "We still like PS Vita and we know people who buy it really like it". That alone says they don't give two shits about it. -_- Sony you disappoint me.

What do you want them to say??? Why do you expect Vita sales to be higher than that?

Based on the past year or so is easy to say that we didn't expected much from the vita. But before the HW was released everybody thought that it was going to be the 3DS killer.

I think it's more accurate to say that many WANTED it to b the 3ds killer. no one really thought it would be.

exactly.

It really should'nt shock anyone that the Vita is doing terribly. The PSP had games like Monster Hunter, Daxter, and Ratchet and Clank that appealed to a much wider audience while the Vita is all about Uncharted and Killzone. Whats even worse is that the PSP sold 80 million and Vita will be lucky to ever crack 20.

Try getting a teenage or college guy to play a Vita or 3DS infront of a group of girls he likes (ie: on a bus or during lunch break at school/college). Not happening.

Looking at your smartphone though? Smartphones are "cool", playing "Game Boy" is not, it implies you're a juvenile.

I'm not saying that's the way it should be, but really there definitely is that stigma still. At least in the USA/Canada, for sure. Probably the UK too.

Sony is running into a brick wall trying to sell handhelds to this audience, the PSP had a good first few years in the US, but it fizzled out by about mid-cycle.

This is indeed the case in UK. 3DS is for kids and core Nintendo fans. Vita caters for young males but the only "handheld" they would ever play in front of others is a smartphone. Sad but true (at least here).

Sony should rather put all those great PS1, PS2, PSP and Vita games on a regular smartphone like the praised Xperia Z1. Why doesn't open a PS Store exclusively to the Xperia brand?

Sony can't do anything third party don't want to develop on Vita

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

That has been true about handheld video games for teenagers for a long time though.  I used to play by DS at school and people would always look at me funny.  I have a Galaxy 3 are most games are either terrible or dont even work. The ones that do work are so filled with ad's that I just turn it off.

I agree 110%. That's why it's sad. Smartphone games are not at all like games on dedicated gaming devices! Saw this http://vimeo.com/68470326 and I couldn't stop thinking of all the garbage app designers. I'm a digital designer myself and I shudder just hearing the words "app", "Facebook", "Instagram", etc.

PS1, PS2, PSP and Vita games on smartphones would still mean bad controls but at least kids wouldn't grow up believing garbage is acceptable.
