Forums - Sales - Lack of 3rd party Wii U Software in the top 75 World Wide, what does it mean?

the game sdon't have to sell better than the other console's versions in order to profit. what's important is for third parties to release their games on wii u and build their base. this way the potential buyers raise not only as the installed base gets higher, but with each release they make. it's also important that the game isn't late or striped of content.

we can look at batman, Assassin's creed and call of retrocess (it's how i call the series. i  refuse to say "duty" to refer to something as disgusting as war), wich all had versions released at wii u's launch. they just got sequels on wii u, wich have the prospects to outsell their previous versions in much less time (while selling enough to grab some profit). any company in their right mind should see that and keep support, making sequels for those games sell better with each release over the years.

I buy 3rd party games, I just don't buy 3rd party games that are gimped, late, overpriced, so none this year. Will get AC4 in a few weeks and was getting watchdogs.

@Gmcmen, That's really opinionated BS. Wii was outselling PS3 with some 3rd party games until 3rd parties went the casual route.
also looking at sales numbers, development cost, etc, PS3 has far more 3rd party hardcore bombs then Wii did.
I guess some people need to spout their personal opinion as fact without really looking into the facts of the issue.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

The system's certainly in even deeper trouble than I anticipated.

Because third party software isn't selling?

Nah, because even the first party stuff is MIA.

Well, seeing as how the Wii U has only 5 (soon to be 6, 3 were launch titles) games over 500k sales and all of them except one, which was a launch title, are published by Nintendo, this is not a huge mystery.
There are currently 23 games above 100k, almost all the games below the top ten are third party but just haven't amassed enough sales to make it on charts over any extended period of time.

Also; cue "you can't forget about digital copies".

Why means you have to double all the sales here, obviously.

and all those games have a whole december ahead, with good prospects of outselling their predecessors in a shorter time.

They're tracking below their predecessors. Hardware sales will be down YOY, exactly why will they be up?

(They won't be.)

The success/failure of Wii U (home consoles) is more based on 3rd party support for the AAA multi-plat titles than the exclusive games.

EA and Take-Two control all the "sports" titles, and neither of them are on Wii U. I think based on this years sales for CoD, Skylanders, etc Activision might be out next year. Same for Ubisoft and others.

The Wii U will be a very niche system if it becomes an "only" Nintendo published titles console. Nintendo may need to start paying for the 3rd party ports of the key 3rd party games or pay even more later on to get them back in.
