Well, seeing as how the Wii U has only 5 (soon to be 6, 3 were launch titles) games over 500k sales and all of them except one, which was a launch title, are published by Nintendo, this is not a huge mystery.
There are currently 23 games above 100k, almost all the games below the top ten are third party but just haven't amassed enough sales to make it on charts over any extended period of time.
Also; cue "you can't forget about digital copies".
