There's no way that Wii U would reach Nintendo's projected sales/shipped numbers. They most likely made those predictions before they found out that not even the holiday could help this nub of a console, correct?

They made the prediction at the start of this fiscal year (so last April or so). They've had chances to revise it downwards, but they're waiting until the end of this quarter at least (with holiday sales factored in) so they can give investors at least some good news instead of all bad.

It was a stupid projection to make anyway. At least 7-8 million was some what sane.

Nothing to do with the Wii U is sane. The whole situation is almost sureal it's so bad.

"i was right" LMAO Superchunk you are wrong more often than not. Hell i cant think of a time when you are right, and with these insane predictions i guess thats not gonna change. I still remember how you swore that WIi U would get alot of 3rd party support, GTA5 in particular, still waiting for that.

OT no. You think MK8 is coming next month? Nope

When did I say GTA was coming? I did say it would gain more 3rd party support and that was seemingly going to happen until EA did a 180 and sales fell rock bottom after the first of the year. In Nov/Dec it seemed likely.

Also, I think many of you are way too focused on the cherry picking VGC history.... been wrong far less than right here.

Do you know how much I've used TVii? Zip. Do you know how much someone with a Wii U has used TVii? Probably still zip.

you didnt say that about GTA? you sure? ill take your word for it for now. Ill check later. Doesnt matter what EA did, or when sales fell doesnt change you were still wrong about it especially when some people said that it wouldnt get the support you thing.

Show us the times you were right, were you one of the ones that said Wii would pass PS2 sales? Did you say that it would have more than 50% market share?

So what happens if Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. come out and only appeal to a modest consumer base or the Nintendo faithful but really do more better than the Gamecube versions?

The only other option is that Nintendo has plans to significantly increase sales in the immediate future.

I don't think this is possible whatever Nintendo do. Retailers have very little faith in the Wii U and won't be willing to risk dramatically increasing stock. A big advertising push would be wasted if people don't see them in stores to follow through with the purchase. They are better off gradually increasing the baseline sales to gain back trust. When they have a bigger presence in stores they can have a big push, but they aren't there yet.
