didn't the gamecube sell like 70% of its final userbase at the 99euro price point?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret -- Nintendo KNOWS full well they're not hitting that forecast. They know they're not even coming close. They pulled that 9 mill number out of their butts a year ago just to placate shareholders. They've known for months that it ain't happening. They're not stupid.

So why not fess up and revise the forecast downwards?

Lets say you've accidentally misplaced your wife's favorite dress while moving things around. Ruh-roh, you're in trouble right? Now you can tell her immediately or you can wait a week and tell her after you've booked that vacation to go to Paris and Rome, which you know she's been asking you to take her for ages.

Simply put, Nintendo knows they are going to take it on the chin with the Wii U forecast, but if they can make hay (specifically with the 3DS) this holiday and post some OK profits, then investors won't be as unhappy about the whole situation come next March.

That's all that's going on. If they were to slash forecasts on Wii U in September on top of posting weak earnings, it looks even worse, if they announce bad Wii U sales next March, but the sales are starting to improve slightly (because they can't get any worse than the Jan-September period) and you have some nice profits to report from Pokemon X/Y and holiday 3DS/2DS sales .... well suddenly it's not such a bitter pill for investors to swallow.

I think it's more likely they'll release
DKC:TF in january
MK8 March/May
SSB April/May

And they'll have some fillers inbetween. Maybe Yarn Yoshi and/or Bayo2

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Nintendo is in deep trouble when even their big fans don't realize that Mario Kart 7 has been released two years ago for the 3DS...

I wholeheartedly agree on the pezus thing though.

Simply not right. And there´s not even a reason to explain.

They can say goodbye to shareholders confidence after this years results and I expect a big sellout of shares right after it, and its possible there might be some trouble inside the meeting place, Iwata might be forced to take drastic decisions.

Nintendo cheap strategy was to release a half assed enhanced port of Wii Fit, another Wii Party U and a single mass appealing AAA value game (SM3DW) which is questionably a 3DS sequel grabbed to have something in their console, which fully evolved into a game of its own. They had to push back DKC because there will be nothing left for Q1 otherwise, but taking a look at the actual situation, if a new 3D Mario wasnt able to wake the interest, then nor will a DK game.

Strategy was desperate and coming off a pedantic and proud stance. Its gone terribly wrong with nothing to be done and yet Reggie and Iwata make it seems its all going according to the master plan. Their moves failed, now they will end the year without retailers, customers, shareholders and publishers trust.

They just dont know what theyre doing anymore. And if the WiiU keeps on beeing a drilled bucket for their money, they will be forced to kill it or leave it as is, with the eventual games coming, but without any further advertising massive campaigns and just to avoid being SEGA'd

I'm not disagreeing that their management is incompetent.

Merely just point out their line of reasoning with that forecast. Better to give bad news with some good news to go with it.

Doesn't it remind you of the other half of your prediction that failed though? You are wrong most of the times, accept it.

The fact that you think a Watch_Dogs bundle is gonna help Wii U achieve 7m-9m is laughable. Most of your posts are your personal wishes that never come true. I still remember how sure you were that the Wii U would run Android in some form, lmao.

My point of THAT thread was the focus on game consoles was shifting to all entertainment devices where games is simply one of the many items. Nintendo is the only part of that, that didnt' come through and the Android parts were clearly me stating they SHOULD do this for the other apps alone. I also stated Sony should do this as well.

That post was mostly right as are the greater majority of my prediction style posts. THis one will likely be option 1 though as option 2 is what they should do but simply cannot or will not.

January needs:
 - New Wii U bundle with Super Mario 3D World $299 beginning first week of January (phase out Zelda bundle and 2D Mario bundle)

February needs:
 - New Mario Kart 8 bundle $299 (keep Mario 3D World bundle)

March needs:
 - Phase out Mario 3D bundle
 - New Wii U Bundle with Watch_Dogs AND Pro Controller $299 (this may need to be in February if that's when game launches, point is to do this with launch of big 3rd NEW party game)

Does it really matter much, which game is bundled with the console if the price and everything else keeps the same? $249 for a console/1game bundle could improve sales... or a new revision with internal HDD + 1 game for $299... perhaps with a more modern look, which differentiates the Wii U more from the Wii (a Wii U in the metallic 3DS XL colors would be great)

But only changing the bundled game will not be enough to attract new customers.

"i was right" LMAO Superchunk you are wrong more often than not. Hell i cant think of a time when you are right, and with these insane predictions i guess thats not gonna change. I still remember how you swore that WIi U would get alot of 3rd party support, GTA5 in particular, still waiting for that.

OT no. You think MK8 is coming next month? Nope

a watchdogs bundle is not gonna happen...you know what NVM if might considering that as of now Wii U owners have NO interest in that game. Ubi will probably want it bundled so its not a complete flop on WIi U
