I sure hope that SSB won't release that early, that won't give me enough time to get my Wii U. I don't want them to rush, I want them to make it the best game possible.

thats my worry too, screw sales I rather have a game thats good, than a rushed one just to push some HW that doesnt benefit gamers, hell they still have to make the 3ds version
It's the better for them to understand that right now the only thing that can hope is to sell as much as GameCube, nothing more, nothing less. But in order to be profitable they need to support their core fan basé and make it active. Right now Wii U is not selling hw and sw, and it's sucking the small 3ds profits.
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe
Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I'd say that plan 2 is still very likely. We'll probably hear about what Megaton they're going to drop early January or late December. My money would be on a Pokemon game for the Wii U taking advantage of the NFC technology in the GamePad using Pokemon figurines or cards.

Maybe... just maybe #2 is coming...

And that was ruined by Nintendo themselves.
Just wanted to point out I was right all along... again.
"1) In January Nintendo will come out of their Investor's meeting with the grim news of massively lowering their Wii U shipment forecasts to a level that is more benefiting of their current sales trend."

You made this prediction in December? By then it was pretty much impossible that Nintendo would meet their forecasts. I mean, you were right, but it was pretty obvious. Unless Nintendo was going to sell 5 million between January and March.

Did you read the OP?
I made to opposing options. First one was the conclusion based on the sales trend (as you also pointed out). Second was the only feasible way it could turn around to make the sales Nintendo foolishly claimed it would in the first place.
