It's honestly no contest. You can find X1's so easily, and WiiU hasn't got a new batch in my local stores. My local Best Buy only sold out of XBONE units (day one sets) 2 days ago, seriously. I got this information today from them. PS4 is a ghost it seems, I can't track one down nor can my friends.

But for clarification, I own a PS4, I go to stores for info trying to get my friends one (not Neo, nor the XBOX).

He's right. The hot third party titles are coming out in 2014 and Nintendo barely has any of them if any at all outside of Watchdogs. That an Titanfall, Halo 5, Infamous, The Order and Uncharted are all dropping in the same year. Its going to be a huge year for those two consoles and they haven't even unleashed most of their hot exclusives for 2014 yet. Its going to be domination.

The top titles next year are not going to even touch Nintendo:

Dark Souls 2

Destiny

Witcher 3

Final Fantasy Versus

Thief

Elder Scrolls Online

None of these are slated for Nintendo. The biggest third party title coming to Nintendo this year is Watchdogs.  Third parties are a large part of the overall picture.


Are you serious?!? or just being sarcastic?!? or probably just severely miss informed!!!

Third party games drives the Sony and Microsoft consoles while Nintendo rely solely on their first party titles to drive hardware sales.

Third party games are but a minor blip on the Nintendo hardware sales.

Beside the first half of 2014 is all about Titanfall vs. Infamous vs Mario Kart 8/Super Smash Bros U. 


You have just explained exactly why without Wii-like sales Nintendo sells around 24-30 million. Without third party games you outside of your diehard fanatics you will only sell half or even less of what the console is capable of selling. Think this through before you go on a rant to protect Nintendo.

Both Microsoft and Sony will produce only around 1 million consoles a month and probably reduce that to 500k a month once they got a clear picture of the demand. By March 2014, I could see the Ps4 being around the 5-6 million mark. 

By that time WiiU will be selling Mario Kart Bundle at $250.

How was that a rant to protect Nintendo? It's just the facts based on sales results, which are unfortunate for Nintendo, but not impossible for them to deal with. They just need to accept these facts is all, but of course their stubborness prevents them from doing so.

They might have shortages, but that also leaves backed up demand going throughout 2014. Chances are very high that they will more than outsell the Wii U's second year. Microsoft and Sony will probably sell six to eight million between the two. Sony have already sold two million in two weeks. They have the whole month of december to continue to sell. Microsoft has technically only really had a week.

Oh I'm sorry!! I though the the thread was about the race to 10 million.

Nintendo would be more then delighted if they manage to sell 24-30 million console to us Diehard fanatics. That would mean that every game day release would get over 10 million sales. While Ps4 and Xbox One third party game would struggle getting 5 million sales on a install base of 80-100 million.

Hmm, according to the OP, not even the Wii could reach 10 million before the 360. Of course the Wii U isn't selling as well as the 360 currently, but neither will the PS4/XB1 sell as well as the Wii, atleast there's no reason to believe they will.

It all comes down to America. If Sony can get the units in to the US and beat Mickeysoft on there home turf  the result is clear. 

And personaly for the sake of gaming i hope America makes the right choice and backs the PS4.
