Forums - Sales - The success of the xbox launch makes me happy

I agree, its selling wonderfully even with everyone counting it out and saying it will bomb. And all of those internet polls so called "predicting the demise of the Xbox". But still, no matter how well it sells or how well its recieved people will find a way to put it down.

I'm happy that xbox launch was successful because, once again, it proves console gaming is still a healty market =D

The funny thing is, with the release of X1 and PS4, everyone seems too be debating which one sold the most, when both have had record-breaking releases :)

I am still worried that this generation will be heavily frontloaded and not sell nearly the same amounts as the previous.

Any successful console launch makes me happy.
More competition, better experience for all us gamers. :)

I honestly don't know why anyone would want a console to fail.  But I suppose some of the people who voted do feel that way, which is a shame.

Also being the most expensive 8th gen console didn't seem to hold it back at all.

In the USA it is doing "good" or at least can keep up with the PS4 and thats only cause Sony doesn't have enough consoles - Nothing unexpected
In Europe and Japan we will see a complete different situation that will push the PS4 out of this world.
There won't be anything like a toe to toe situation. Not even in dreams.
The moment Sony can pump out constant supply the race is over.

Nobody was saying that. Everyone with a brain knew the XBO would sell out at launch.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I'm glad its doing well. all of the PS4 selling 5:1 stuff has, to date, been proven untrue. The demand for both is still there. To paraphrase a quote from Sony, "The first few million will buy it with no games" so it's not entirely unexpected. It's what Sony and Microsoft do with their momentum that will decide how the gen plays out.

I most happy that gamers were willing to forgive Microsoft. It just goes to show that when a company listens to consumers, consumers respond in kind.

Yet again here's someone putting it down for no reason at all. My post had absolutely nothing to do with being "toe to toe" with PS4.

Competition is always good.
