HMM the fandom is strong in this one.

everybody here is a psychic. You people must really love eating your words.

How can either side claim what game in all of next year will have the best face paint? we don't even know everything thats gonna come out.

Who is handing out this glorious trophy that no fan can touch anyway?

I must say I agree 100% but to be honest there is really only 1 person saying this right now and stating it as fact. And I think Selnor is cool as can be but to just COMPLETELY dismiss EVERYTHING on PS4 for next year without even knowing every game that is coming out is just ABSURD.

QB looks GREAT we have NO IDEA what Halo 5 will look like and outside of 4 it has never really been known for graphics but more so gameplay. Both Infamous: SS and The Order looks AMAZING and we have seen gameplay from both. The WItcher 3 will more than likely beat everything else though. It is nothing wrong with being confident but some claims are just crazy.

Anyway On Topic: Congrats to Ryse for being an AMAZING looking game but after playing it I must say it is pretty stale...looks AMAZING though but the gameplay does not match the visuals....which sucks....

Hehe. But predicting is fun. :)

But with Halo 5 I chose this because Halo 4 was one of the best graphics all last gen according to DF and many people. Largely due to the team at 343i being made of several Ex Crytek, Naughty Dog and Epic designers. I expect Halo 5 to continue in the same vein. If the initial trailer is anything to go by, they are aiming at a massive scale and visual fidelity.

Of course I could be completely wrong and PS4 could have some Avatar like graphic game hidden away for next year.

Digital Foundry haven't done a proper analysis of ShadowFall that I can find. Let's just wait for that before proclaiming the graphics king

If it's any help, the Last of Us is still the best looking game that I have played....

And next year Uncharted is surely the favourite to win?

So what is DF gonna do retract there statement that Ryse Towers over the rest of the launch games?

They're going to make another vague statuement and do their best to stay out of the console wars

"It's only when combat begins that we begin to notice a few issues, starting with the distinct lack of enemy variety. We were disappointed to find that only a handful of unique models are used despite the high body count. We found ourselves repeatedly killing the same handful of soldiers time and time again."

Great, another title that seems to think enemy variety is unimportant.

"Animation is another area where things aren't quite as polished as we might like. Ryse uses animation blending fairly effectively and lead character Marius is able to transition smoothly between enemies, but there is a sense that characters aren't always fully planted in the world with feet often sliding around the battlefield. "

Awesome, I love when models slide around at random because that's so realistic...

"Unfortunately, that brings us to another disappointment; Crytek's stated commitment to "real-time, all the time" goes unrealised in Ryse with the move to pre-rendered cut-scenes. "

Great, another title that fails to use the engine to do the cutscenes. Technically impressive? Obviously not.

"Originally touted as a solid 30fps experience, Ryse misses the mark more often than we'd like with frame-rates often fluctuating between 26-28fps. The most challenging situations even see the frame-rate drop into the teens,"

This is totally unacceptable. On a technical level, this game is absolute garbage. Drops into the fucking teens?

So Digital Foundry clearly says to its readers:

"That said, if you really want a taste of what we can expect from the next generation of consoles, Ryse towers over the rest.

All of a sudden its a vague statement. Ok then. A vague statement would be Ryse is ONEOF THE BEST LOOKING CONSOLE GAMES. Not hey if you want to see whats possible this coming generation? Ryse is the game to see.

Doesn't mean its the only tower

They also described Crysis 3 on PC as the best way to get a taste of what to expect from the next generation

Anyway, it doesn't hugely matter really. If you have an Xbox One, this is the best game to get to show off graphics to your friends. If you have a PS4 then get Shadow Fall or maybe BF4 to show off your console. If you have both.... well then flick in between inputs to decide which one you think is better

Your right. But DF make it clear the other towers are not as tall.

This is a great victory for Microsoft in the console graphics war. Because we all know Guirella Games is great at visuals. And on what many are touting as easier to develop for than Xbox One and much more powerful hardware the Xbox One comes out at launch with the most graphically intensive and impressive game.

Its not like one of Sonys lesser graphical studios went up against Ryse. This was Killzone. And yet it didnt accomplish its task.

All of a sudden the harder to develop for Xbox One ( all 3rd party devs have said its harder ) comes out with the best graphics at launch.

I said originally its not all about raw numbers. Its also about design choices. And the setup in Xbox One has things PS4 doesnt. equalling them out much more. Oh and of course Crytek show whos boss at visuals once again.

selnor1983 I just placed you on my list of people that I follow.
