So Digital Foundry clearly says to its readers:

All of a sudden its a vague statement. Ok then. A vague statement would be Ryse is ONEOF THE BEST LOOKING CONSOLE GAMES. Not hey if you want to see whats possible this coming generation? Ryse is the game to see.

They also described Crysis 3 on PC as the best way to get a taste of what to expect from the next generation

Anyway, it doesn't hugely matter really. If you have an Xbox One, this is the best game to get to show off graphics to your friends. If you have a PS4 then get Shadow Fall or maybe BF4 to show off your console. If you have both.... well then flick in between inputs to decide which one you think is better
