all because of xbox we have to use triggers to shoot. i'll never thank them!

Most guns have triggers to shoot.

I agree.

So why shoot a virtual fireweapon (handgun, rifle, SMG, shotgun...) in a game with a button instead of using a (slightly) more authentic trigger?

I can't thank Xbox fans for multiplayer being behind a paywall on playstation now even though i couldn't care less about it to be honest.

They bow down to help the fallen one up? That's very nice of them!

"PlayStation fans should thank Xbox for better online, more multimedia features, more exclusive games, cheaper prices, a better controller."

aha...ahahaha...HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Yeah no. I have no problem interacting, talking, debating, playing with xbox fans/buyers/fanatics but I am not thanking them for anything. I let my bias towards Sony get to my head every so often, sure. However, the xbox fans didn't do shit for PS and vice versa.

That being said, I will shake hands and kiss cheeks so we can take out those smugged PC fans.

because it makes sense to assign your index finger to the shoot button. If your index finger is on the triggers then you have to reposition your hand to use the R1 (RB) button. the middle finger is sufficient for the triggers which are usually mapped to grenades, and then you have the last two fingers to support the back of the controller allowing you to press more agressively on the buttons giving you a competitive advantage.

...so yeah, I will never thank xbox, for its apprently superior controller.

Ummm...

DC was the first to use analog triggers for racing / shooting games.  Xbox controller was literally a DC controller with an extra set of face buttons and a second thumb stick... even the lettering sequence of the four face buttons is the same

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Eh...No

I can understand the importance of analogue triggers before the second analogue stick became the norm and because theres no shoulder buttons on the dreamcast controller.

but now using triggers to drive instead of the right analogue stick or using them to shoot instead of the shoulder button is just making things unnecessarily complicated.

anyway, sony didnt opt for triggers on the ps3 because of dreamcast they did it because the xbox 360 had them.
