AC IV not sure about buying because it is the 4th part (technically the 6th) of a franchise in which I have only played 1 game but I got the money of Watch_dogs and some recommendations from friends so now I am considering.

And CoD: Ghosts I was going to buy day one but my game provider/importer did not got the game for the Wii U and only this week he got it, but is too close to Black Friday so is better if I wait to see if some offers are available. Instead I bought a pro controller and now I have the money for 1 more game during black friday sales, and it looks like CoD is the one, but still not sure, many things can happen.

I feel like buying one of these games would put a stain on my Wii U collection. Oups I said something wrong.

But seriously, too many better games available and my gaming time, which is spread across multiple consoles, is not infinite.

Last years installments of Call of Duty, Skylanders, Assassins Creed, Just Dance, Batman, Scribblenauts all sold in the 150-200k range. I hope this years Installments can sell in the 300-400k range, a 100% improvement. Its not a huge improvement but hopefully its enough for Activision, Ubisoft and Warner Bros to continue supporting Wii U.

Haven't checked the numbers but I doubt that even the gamecube sold this badly when it comes to 3rd party game. Wasn't Tales of symphonia a great success for example ? the resident evil games?


I agree, Nintendo gamers need to support 3rd parties.  Half of my Wii U games are 3rd party.

Consumers are not obligated to buy games. It's their hard earned money. They get to do what they want with it. It is up to these third party developers, who are BUSINESES in a free market society, to convince THEM to buy their software buy making good enough games that consumers will WANT to buy.

I'm sorry, but I still hold the belief that if a third party game sold poorly, there was probably a good reason for it, even on Nintendo consoles. Just makes me laugh how some people side with the third parties over gamers, who, at the end of the day, only care about your money - when these people are gamers themselves.

Explain to me why solid games with big following like COD and Assasin's creed sold so poorly this year compared to the 360/ps3/ps4.

The ps4 got the late ports this time and they weren't exactly master pieces with a few technical problems yet they sold quite a bunch. The Wii U didn't got a lot of 3rd party games this holidays, but the ones it got were among the best (I'm looking specifically at COD, AC4 and Batman). Also, Nintendo fans cried for years for games like Assasin's creed or a COD with HD graphics on the Wii and now that they have them nobody is even looking at them.

Heck, with less competition I would have expected even more sales for these games. For 2014  I won't even complain if we don't get a single 3rd party game in the whole year given how little Nintendo gamers have supported quality games in 2013 (just give me the previously announced watch dogs)
