WiiU - 3rd Party sales - first week of sale.

But anyways, everybody knows that the Wii u won't get that much 3rd party support. Some games here and there from their biggest Japanese supporters (Sega, Capcom) and some here and there from western companies that publish all their games on every possible platform (Activision, Ubisoft) and a few minor games of course.

Haven't checked the numbers but I doubt that even the gamecube sold this badly when it comes to 3rd party game. Wasn't Tales of symphonia a great success for example ? the resident evil games?

Did Nintendo fanboys let Nintendo down, or did third parties (and Nintendo, for securing so few and even fewer quality third party games) let fans down?

Consumers are not obligated to buy games. It's their hard earned money. They get to do what they want with it. It is up to these third party developers, who are BUSINESES in a free market society, to convince THEM to buy their software buy making good enough games that consumers will WANT to buy.

I'm sorry, but I still hold the belief that if a third party game sold poorly, there was probably a good reason for it, even on Nintendo consoles. Just makes me laugh how some people side with the third parties over gamers, who, at the end of the day, only care about your money - when these people are gamers themselves.

Explain to me why solid games with big following like COD and Assasin's creed sold so poorly this year compared to the 360/ps3/ps4.

The ps4 got the late ports this time and they weren't exactly master pieces with a few technical problems yet they sold quite a bunch. The Wii U didn't got a lot of 3rd party games this holidays, but the ones it got were among the best (I'm looking specifically at COD, AC4 and Batman). Also, Nintendo fans cried for years for games like Assasin's creed or a COD with HD graphics on the Wii and now that they have them nobody is even looking at them.

Heck, with less competition I would have expected even more sales for these games. For 2014  I won't even complain if we don't get a single 3rd party game in the whole year given how little Nintendo gamers have supported quality games in 2013 (just give me the previously announced watch dogs)
