Well, isn't the 3DS/Wii the primary consoles of Japan at the moment? Does the 3DS not have popular simulators for relationships and love affairs? |
I'm inclined to wonder "Are these particular games the cause of Japan's problems, or a side effect of greater cultural issue, which then feeds on itself?"
But that's a discussion for another thread.

Which is the case for all launch systems, do ANY of the games actually steal the show? All of the top games are multiplats, with Resogun, think Super Stardust Delta, which also got low to mid 80's meta on the Vita. Personally I would love to see more games like this, and Nano Assault Neo on the Wii U, it's an underappreciated genre that could be done remarkably well if done right, with enough upgrades, story, and challenge.
I personally have enjoyed Warframe quite a bit, while the controls take a bit to get used to, and you can also play it on PC, it is definatly a nice time sink especially when you have 3 friends, not PUG's that want to rush everything.
They always put a dozen multiplats, a couple of exclusives(Killzone is in last place of the three shooters, Knack sold 100k first week which is really good sales, and for a 57 Metacritic rating, the game is still a very fun one that will get some attention, 2 player local co-op play is also fun)
That's not saying, it's not worth checking out Battlefield 4, NBA 2K14, Assassin's Creed IV, Injustice Gods Among Us(If you don't own it already), FIFA, Madden, Need for Speed Rivals(Which will probably sell better on 8th gen besides 7th gen, but would've sold more if it came out in December, we'll see)
2014 is the year of the Wii U, 2015 is the year of the PS4/Xbox One.

3rd parties want a stronger system to make games for. Nintendo didn't give it to them. |
Maybe the third party developers are lazy, and want to keep making half assed games? Time and time again, Nintendo steals the show on the Wii U, what games were most popular outside of Nintendo? Just Dance, Mario and Sonic, Zumba.
If they want the third party games to do well, stop gutting features of the games.
On the Wii U, exclusives have the top 8 slots. Gamers aren't stupid.
On Playstation 3, and Xbox 360, third party developers have an easier time, because the quality of the games as a whole are not the same, sure Nintendo has a few duds(Nintendo Land, Game and Wario) but every company will. Shooters dominate the genre because they offer the best competitive multiplayer experience. For platformers, Assassin's Creed does pretty well, as does Little Big Planet. Batman and God of War do decently as well. Halo also does well because it's an exclusive to the Xbox and a shooter. And Skyrim did best for an RPG on the Xbox, and Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3.

If power doesnt matter nintendo must be really stupid to let go off the 100m people they had on the wii. They could have just released a tablet attachment. its resolution would need to be the same as a GBA but still, graphics dont matter right?

There is a lot of blame to go around for this. Many Third Parties dumped Nintendo back in the N64 days and has not looked back. Many third parties put games on a Nintendo system that is sub par compared to other consoles, Not because of how the system was built, but because they just figured it most likely won't sell anyway so why give Nintendo fans as good of a version of the game we are making, in addition to all that (Which both arguments I just made are two way streets and I understand that) You have "Hard Core" Gamers that say graphics and hardware power does not matter, but buys other systems for third party games. Their only reason. Graphics and Power. They only buy Nintendo for the first party games. So yeah like I said. Lot's of blame to go around on that one.
Nintendo Wii by generations...
1. Wii
2. Wii U
3. Wii O U
Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.
Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)
Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)
Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)
Honestly is the OP drunk? I can't make heads or tails of that post other than it comes off as some kind of passive aggressive attempt to crap on those people that find Sony/MS platforms suit their gaming tastes better than Nintendo does.
Nintendo makes some great games, but some Nintendo fans just seem unable to wrap their mind around the fact that some people like racing sims, and first person shooters, and sports games as much as they like Mario or Zelda.

Agree. This is another "we have the weakest console and still produce the best games again, take that sony/microsoft fans". This is what happen when their console of choice is getting unnoticed but they apparently don't realize people choose consoles as a long term investment. wii U will get a maximum 4 year of suppport compare to 7 to 8 years of support from ps4/one. Even if those console are more expensive, they will provide more value and content for your bucks.

Nintendo fans have been condition for decades that third party offerings are subpar and Nintendo games are consistently top notch. Is it really their fault for not picking up a $50 game that they expect to be subpar, when there's a Nintendo game sitting next to it that they know will be top notch quality?
Besides, the majority of Nintendo fans also game on other platforms, which consistently has the better multiplat version.
*On topic, power is definitely not needed to make great games. However, I believe that 3rd parties DO need more power to make better games. I think they need it to cover up what would otherwise be very mediocre games. The gen just started though, and there will be amazing games on both the ps4 and xb1, which will be made even better by that extra power. ...

I marked what's imortant: people buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games and a few mostly kidfriendly 3rd party titles. It has nothing to do with the games being bad ports or something, the Wii U demographic simply doesn't care for most types of third party games, period.
So if 3rd party publishers wanted to have their games sell on a Nintendo platform they would need to make Nintendostyle games and why the hell would the do that? They would just sacrifice sales on the other platforms and on the Wii U they would have to be compared to the real deal, which would probably still result in mostly lackluster sales on the Platform.
The thing is, software wise Nintendo fans are extremely unflexible and stubborn. Almost anything that isn't produced by Nintendo themselves, is destined to fail on a Nintendo home console nowadays, even games that are published by Nintendo like for example W101 (and I'm willing to guarantee Bayonetty 2 as well) fail miserably. So Nintendo fans only want their 3D Marios, Smash Bros, Mario Karts, Zeldas etc. and that's ok, they'll get them and they'll be great games and Nintendo will also surely make money with the Wii U, but there aren't a 100 million people out there desperately needing to buy a console for Nintendo games, so Nintendo fans just need to start to come to terms with the fact that the Wii U will sell significantly less than the Wii and that that is fine.
