Oh, no. No, no. That's totally different. While the premise has a very thin line, I believe watching a film and allowing yourself to be immersed within a game are two, totally different, separate forms of entertainment.

A Pixar film tells a story, where it could be a timeless, ageless, life lesson. However, a Pokemon game for example, you're experiencing and controlling that virtual life which was broken down to entertain the most simple minds. As a child, I'd love the game. But today, I've grown out of it.

And, concerning the CS Lewis maturity quote, it's 100% right. But I'm sorry; beyond college graduation, if you have responsibilities to take care of yourself and others, you won't be playing a Pokemon game. This could be straight out of left field, but games like ones that Nintendo produce are a reason why the fertility rate in Japan is so low. Their relationships are useless when you could live in these virtual worlds and have a so much better, simpler life.

Are you kidding? Because only nintendo games can trap people in the virtual world...

Well, isn't the 3DS/Wii the primary consoles of Japan at the moment? Does the 3DS not have popular simulators for relationships and love affairs?

I'm inclined to wonder "Are these particular games the cause of Japan's problems, or a side effect of greater cultural issue, which then feeds on itself?"

But that's a discussion for another thread.
