Forums - Sony - PS4 analog sticks are garbage

Demo controllers are always in terrible shape. People dont wash there hands, and they are handled by many many people including kids. Those oils wear down the plastic. Plus Its a store controller so people dont feel bad treating them like shit and im sure many will pick at the joystick with there nail as a form of inspection

I'm just thinking now... in BGS I think at least 500 guys used the same console/controller and even so when I was playing the controller looked like a band new controller.

those 500 guys probably werent jerks and tried to destroy the controller by creating friction with the rubber and peeling it off

I'll take game journalist and gamers (along with my demo experience) with extensive use of the controller all clamoring how well made and excellent the DS4 is over you any day. Please try to make your bias a little less obvious next time

No offense, but should you or anyone else in here really be talking about being "unbiased" either?

So --

I had originally commented on this thread, mentioning how I had shown no signs of wear against my DS4 controller. After further use, I can say that this definitely is an issue and that like the OP mentioned -- The rubber on the controller does in fact wear.

I've logged maybe 50 hours of total use on my PS4 since owning it. I had one controller that came with the console and one that I purchased separately. Both are showing the initial stages of wear on the bottom portion of the left joystick.

It hasn't and I don't know if it will truly impact anything, but I did notice it tonight while I was playing.

Had the PS4 for two weeks now and I can't complain. But I have to say that while the DS4 is more comfortable, it feels a little bit cheaper tham the DS3. That's just my opinion though.

Love the controller.  Little stiff coming from PS3/PS2/PS1  but still love the controller.  Just wanted to confirm this is an actual issue and I would highly doubt that I am the only one.

Well my left analog stick is starting to peel off after about a 100h playtime. I hated the DS4 from the start but that was just the cherry on top. Going to make a picture of it.
Also I'm a certified Sony fanboy who never touched an xbox in his life. But as much as I am a ps fanboy I am a DS3 fanboy as well.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

New analog sticks are amazing. Better placed on the controller and much more precise than DS3. Finally can enjoy FPSs on a console.
