Forums - Gaming - Wal-Mart May Be Vacating Wii U Stock For PS4 And Xbox One

Not a chance. My local Wal Mart was a mess a week ago too and many sections were basically pilled out onto the floor because they're moving things around for the PS4/XB1 launches, but no chance would Wal-Mart pull support for Nintendo.

They are probably the no.1 seller of Nintendo product in the USA. If this was legit, it would be a huuuuuuuuge story that would be reported every where.

Clearing shelves, ready to reorganize for BF.

Although Nintendo shelf space WILL be hit by PS4/One.

As with the vita thread like this months ago... a picture doesnt mean anything

how can I not believe this report when it's accompanied by such a convincing picture?

Mind you, they probably do need to make space  for all those unsold copies of KNACK (boom boom!)

I don't believe it. It could happen though. We've always had a section for Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. With the new consoles coming in and the old consoles hanging on, I think stores are going to be a little cramped for shelf space in the very near future. Right now, we have

-PS3
-PS4
-PS Vita (Lol!)
-Xbox 360
-Xbox One
-3DS/DS
-Wii/Wii U

All fighting for one or two precious aisles of space. Something's gotta give.

As a Vita owner/ lover, I STILL can't find a retailer in my area that has much of a Vita library aside from maybe five games.  Not even Gamestop.  I don't believe the Wii U situation but the Vita thing seems quite bleak from where I stand.  Of course this is all annecdotal. May not be so widespread but from Savannah to Augusta GA and everything in between, I've seen the same thing.

News website using a picture with resolution and clarity from 1900 in a report, seems legit.

That pic was already confirmed to be misleading. The X1 and PS4 sections at that store were already allocated. These shelves are blank because they were moving things around, not because they were getting rid of them.

Chalk up another website desperate for hits. I swear any sites that do this should be blacklisted from all forums.

I agree. This kind of thing doesn't add to discussion and is just generally needless console war fodder.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if they got in fewer Wii U's to make way for other, newer systems. Ofcourse, I expect the same for almost all the other consoles as well.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Feel our pain Nintendo fans!!!!!

When I bought my Vita at gamestop (new to support Sony) there was NO vita section. So sad. Retailers only care about what's popular unfortunately. And the Wii U just isn't popular, just like the vita.
