Forums - Gaming - PS4 and XBONE are in for the same drought as WiiU

As far as I know, Driveclub has been delayed until January/February even it's not been announced, it won't come out in March since this is the release date of Infamous, so it's forcefully Jan/Feb

Hahahahaha.

WiiU lanches without the ability to play 8th gen games, and doesn't showcase any graphical prowess over the much cheaper, and already established, PS3 and xbox.

Saying it is down to simply how many games are out is just wrong.

I'm talking specifically about the "WiiU has no games PS4/XBO have many" statement, argue about graphics somewhere else please

There will be plenty of downloadable games on both the PS4 and Xbox One, also they will have plenty of third party support so there will be plenty of games for people to play...

I'm not counting Downloadable titles, as for3rd party i mentioned that the drought lift is a third party game

Double standard? Either you consider each and every game (downloadable title or not) or you will have to address the "graphics" argument and presumably many others. Anyway, PS4 and XOne aren't (and won't ever be) as dry as Wii U.

Prediction made in 14/01/2014 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 100M      XOne: 70M      WiiU: 25M

Prediction made in 01/04/2016 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 100M      XOne: 50M      WiiU: 18M

Prediction made in 15/04/2017 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 90M      XOne: 40M      WiiU: 15M      Switch: 20M

Prediction made in 24/03/2018 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 110M      XOne: 50M      WiiU: 14M      Switch: 65M

Wii U drought was really demand not games.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

At this point, if that's not going to admit you're wrong, then nothing will.

LOL, he got *owned*, but he'll probably just change the goal posts to save face.

(Sorry for butting in, please continue your interesting argument).

all you guys shoting owned yet you guys probably know nothing about game engines. dont butt into what you dont understand and never will

I do know nothing about game engines. That is why I don't get involved in technical conversations - it only exposes my ignorance.

:)

So then how can you tell if someone got owned if you cant actually weigh up the value of someones argument? Freaking hell the internet exposes peoples mindlessness so easily.

LOL I was throwing a hint, but I guess that was lost on you.

this is indeed going to happen, launch demand won't continue for long, Ps4 and XboxONE are also very expensive

hard-core gamers buy the consoles at launch, like they buy hard-core games, I predict Ps3/Xbox360 style of sales trend for Ps4 and XboxONE over the coming years

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Guys, do you realize Wii U just won this year just because of this? The thing is cheap, has 2 major games out already "WW HD" and the critically acclaimed "Super Mario 3D World". And Mario Kart& Smash Bros are expected for 2014. You have to have games to sell a console and game take time. PS4 and Xbone will take off, just not this year. I find it kinda funny though that Xbone and PS4 are at the exact same(according to vgchartz) sales and PS4 has only been sold in the US while Xbone has been sold in US+Europe... strange.

Indubitably.

If that's so, why has the PS3 sold so little in 2006 and presented an ever growing yearly sales during 4 consecutive years? And something similar happened with X360, which had its sales peak in the 5th year. I think it's the opposite: hardcore consoles sell well during the entire generation while casual / alternative consoles like Wii may have a boost in the first 2 or 3 years but then begin to decay.

The Wii U is not going to have a major boost, even with the inevitable release of Nintendo's other IPs like Zelda, Metroid, Kart, Smash Bros., etc.

I'm willing to give the console another year to prove me wrong, but if I just say it like I see it, the Wii U is going to be more like the GC than any other console Nintendo has released, at least in terms of sales and market relevancy.

The software drought or lull isn't going to effect either the PS4 or the XB1 because it won't be until the next wave of software is available that the average consumer will be able to walk into a store and buy one off the shelf anyway.

And sorry MTZehvor for hijacking your debate. :P

You need not apologize to me. I'm personally amazed you got him to admit that he was wrong about anything, ever.

Permalite had an argument that was addressing what I said. Your argument was just crazy blabbering and nothing technical. See, when you actually know what your talking about, it helps in a debate. #craziness

...did you really just use a hashtag in a debate?

...seriously?

Well, that's it. I'm out. I'd continue, but it's readily apparent that convincing someone who can't even define a single generation with his contradictory graphical standards is a task that would take decisive evidence or a miracle from Jesus. And in the realms of a definition debate, neither of those seems likely.
