How much did GTA sold first week? Too lazy to look it myself.

Nice Vita numbers, next week should top 50k easily. Wii u drop more than I thought, a shame...

360k PS3; 26k 360, also Pokemon wasn't just newer, it came out the same week as GTA.

It was the same week? I thought GTA released at least 2 weeks after Pokemon's launch. In that case disregard my first post.

Wow... looks like the japanese are finally starting to accept western games. I never thought i'd see a game like Battlefield 4 having the top sales spot in Japan. Times have changed indeed... also with GTA5 above 500k.

Troubling drop for a Wii U. Of course it will spike for a week for Mario 3D World and raise it's baseline for the holiday season (as every platform does), but I think a drop like that shows the general Wii U baseline will probably revert back to under 12k once the holiday season wears off.

This type of sales pace is consistent with the GameCube, which would get spikes for tentpole Nintendo titles and the year end holiday rush in Japan, but then suffer fairly large drops afterwards.

It's definitely no Wii 1.

Wondering if GTA may be a bigger franchise than home console 3D Mario nowadays. That would be quite dangerous for Nintendo.

Sales will no wonder get lower before Mario releases, but my biggest concern is if the boost Mario may generate could be gone after the Holidays. That's what was happening to the Wii during the past 3 years. Sales boosts were all seasonal, and then low during the rest of the year. With the Wii U things are much worse, as the baseline is so low, that the "low" Wii sales are the "high" Wii U sales, so the low Wii ]U sales are actually abysmal.

wtf happen to my post? anyway do you mean in japan only or worldwide? Cuz WW GTA is probably the biggest franchise of all time!!!
