A price cut in Japan would really help the WiiU...... the only region where Nintendo has yet to do that.

Oh, and Vita passed 2m on Media Create in 100 weeks. Make of that what you will.
Famitsu decided to count download cards as negative points this week.

Akiba 2 actually beats Akiba 1 opening, and we don't know how much it sold digitally.
For Exstetra, releasing the same day as Akiba 2 definitely didn't help (I myself picked Akiba 2 instead of Exstetra). But it's true the 3DS version is a total disaster : 80% of the shipment is on shelves and isn't going anywhere. Japanese publishers should stop wasting money in doing multiplats that people will naturally buy on Vita.
Expected drop for the Wii U but it still feels disappointing. Wii Party U very very very disappointing.
Edit: Vita is having a little decent run over 20k. It's not great but it is solid.
| Kresnik said: Gosh. Not a very impressive week for Japan. Starting with the hardware - it's the healthiest, but that's really not healthy for 3DS. Didn't it have a Monster Hunter LE console bundle this week? I thought it was a lock for 100k+ a week since MonHun and Pokemon came; but it hasn't been. Maybe my expectations were just too high. Vita is... alright. At least it's found a stable floor by the looks of it, as long as there's a niche release or two a week. Still not healthy, but given how it was doing last year (this was the 4k week last year just before the new colours released) it's... an improvement, I guess. Wii-U. There was obviously gonna be a drop this week, but I wasn't expecting quite so big. I'd have thought there would still be some pent up demand the following week. Taiko & Mario should boost it back up a bit and I'm expecting them both to have legs. Software wise... wow. I don't think Akiba's Trip numbers are very good because it's basically showing 0 growth over the PSP version. At least the Vita version did better (+ digital) I suppose. Exstetra has done horribly, by every stretch of the imagination. Those 3DS numbers are abysmal and Vita really isn't any better. Those baseball games are showing impressive legs though. I guess that's quite good. |
Considering Vita had 0 of biggest ip in Japan 20k is really good if Vita get one day Fnal Fantasy,Kingdom Heart,Metal Gear Solid it'will do 50k every week.
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m
Terrible Wii U software numbers. Hardware drop is alarming also.
Let's pray for it.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
How is it possible that Battlefield 4 got number 1 when GTA V couldn't do it? Sure Pokemon was newer, but even considering that, GTA is a much much bigger franchise than Battlefield.

Congratulation to 2M VITA in JAPAN !!! I'm sure it can get 3M by the end of this fiscal year..
Wii U dropping like a rock, that's a shame. It should pick back up again after Super Mario 3D World is released though.
3DS seems kinda meh too, but there's not really much releasing for it at the moment.
