Seriously though this was a great direct for a Smash Bros fan, gave us great insight into the game. The only thing that would be better is a demo


they could have shown all that in 10mins. It was a dissapointing diret cause it just shows they got nothing to dave the wii u. Look at AUS wtf are we getting on time and/or on Wii U these days here lol. YOu can fit all the game releases on WIi U onto one page on ebgames site. The other consoles are pages of preorders.



Considering how close we are to E3, it's a bit silly to think they'll unveil anymore new games, or even talk about stuff releasing in the second half of the year, especially when there's still games releasing in the first half. Honestly I'm surprised they had a Smash Direct at all.

I think the people who are disappointed with the lack of info are maybe thinking of the 'big ticket' stuff:

-5 new characters
-3DS framerate
-Online infrastructure
-New game mode

I accept that those elements could be included in a standard direct. But what about the other stuff:

-Showing levels
-Showing items
-Explaining characters strengths/weaknesses/movesets
-Explaining how characters have changed and been balanced
-Showing off pokemon/assist trophies
-Trophy quiz (loved this btw)
-Explanation of the music
-Explanation of multiple final destination stages

There was tonnes of information in the direct, but it was definitely one for the hardcore smash fans. I love smash, but I definitely fall into the 'for fun' category, so a lot of the information was a bit over my head. But to say that it was all filler and could be tacked onto the end of a standard direct is just wrong IMO.

I just wish we knew why this happened in April... guess we'll see at e3

Yup, hopefully all of this "nonsense" will mean less time on known games at E3 and more time on unannounced titles, like...I dunno...ZELDA???

sorry should have been more specific. We keep saying that they will blow us away with great news stuff but it is always dissapointing there E3 at least for the last 5 years or so.

I'm specifically talking about their Smash Bros. E3 showing, not E3 as a whole! But yeah people will be dissapointed no matter what Nintendo does.

I would give that Direct a 9/10!  I didn't have high expectations and that truly paid off!
