My bet is Dark Souls II for Next-gen if anything souls related.  i dont think it would make sense releasing Demons Souls and Dark Souls so close together.

It could be the game to get me to buy a ps4 if done right. But right now i dont know if it is a reason because Dark souls and Demon's souls are practically the same game but Demon's souls is more linear where as dark souls is open world.  From the sounds of it Dark Souls II could be on next-gen which is very welcoming as well.

For anybody who says Dark Souls isnt the spiritual successor you can not deny that they are insanely similar to one another, even sharing the name souls, same artstyle, same mechanics, same online system, same gameplay style, as well as farming souls etc.

Honestly I think of them as the same series. If we get a Demon Souls II, I'd expect it to basically be dark souls III instead of reverting to the old mechanics.

Only difference between the two names is exclusivity.

Was there any need of this flame bait?? Demons souls was an awesome game and MANy souls played did indeed prefer demons over dark, that may be GASP, because they liked it better? PVP was broken in dark souls.

Also, nuber of thread post is hardly scientific, A new game for a new console would generate buzz, especially one of demons souls quality.

In the beginning video it's explained that the Old One was brought back thanks to Allant's desire to have more power and his playing with the Souls Arts. This power corrupts him and that disgusting shape you fight at the end, is what's left of him, more evidence is the sword you get, which was Allant's. The Allant you fight at the end of Boletaria castle is a demon pretending to be him. His soul is even called "False King Allant's demon soul".

This is also the reason why his son commits suicide, because he can't bear to see what has happened to his father.

There's definitely more differences than name, but we'll be here all day trying to argue it. People are excited because they remember what Demon's Souls was like, which had a few, key, differences to Dark Souls.

On the flip-side, I expect Dark Souls II as a sequel, and PS4 exclusive first, with Demon's Souls II a few years later.

Yes

False King Soul: 1-5 resides the Demon who pretends to be King Allant after Allant's soul has been devoured by "The Old One". He looks how Allant would look if he were still alive.

King Allant Soul: Beneath the Nexus where the Maiden in Black takes you so you can take out Old One. The amorphous blob that you fight is the True King Allant only digested it seems.

Dark Souls is Demon's Souls 2. From made that game to all the Demons Souls fans.

Every new game in a series brings some changes, Fallout, Elder Scrolls (I prefer Oblivion over Skyrim, but that's what Todd Howard decided to make), GTA, Battlefield. Same with Dark Souls (different story and setting, slightly easier, more open world, changes in the online). The same will happen with Dark Souls 2 (different story and setting, slightly easier, more open world, changes in the online).

People are missing the point. Dark Souls is the sequel to Demon's Souls. Many people think Demon's Souls is a slightly better game (I do too), but Dark Souls is what it is, it's what From decided to make for us. Both are incredible games.

There will not be a Demon's Souls 2 ever. From Software calls their games Dark Souls now. Deal with it.

I think everyone is also forgetting that Dark Souls II isn't coming to Next Gen....

A Demon's Souls 2 will not have to directly compete with sales of Dark, as they will be on entirely different platforms. You can think of it as an Exclusive Dark Souls II version for Next Gen i guess.
