What if the Steambox is more powerful than the PS4?  I have no clue because I haven't been keeping up with any news regarding the supposed system.  Sure your point still stands but if another competitor jumps into the race offering higher specs along with higher price then it will continue the streak of highest powered system not selling the most.

So in fact the Steambox will probably be the most powerful if you custimize it.

There will be more than 1 steambox and they will likely get new models atleast yearly

Steamboxes are different setups priced at different price points. It can be cheaper or more expensive depending which one you buy. But you can change/add parts later on.

 

 

I honestly dont see MS selling better than competition unless it's willing to remove kinect and sell the console with atleast 150$ lower price. Right now only concrete reason to get it is for the exclusives for gaming. The fact that 100$ cheaper console is more powerful is just too good of a perk to miss, PS4 also has exclusives and who knows about the future exclusives at this point.

I guess the moral of the story is that the power of the console has very little to do with how well it does.


I'm a little unclear on which is which but my best guess would be:
Weakest console/highest selling - Atari 2600, NES, Wii

Strongest console/lowest selling - 5200, Neo Geo

Weakest console/lowest selling - Jaguar, Dreamcast, Ouya

intermediate/highest selling - SNES, PS1, PS2

 

 

If I'm wrong, could you clear up what you meant by the strongest/weakest consoles of each gen? I'm not sure if the 5200 should be considered a 2nd gen console either, but then again, I'd have no idea who it'd be between the other three. And I'm pretty sure the 7800 wouldn't have been able to deliver anything on an SMB3 scale.

I will be here to say I TOLD YOU So, when numerous other Ps4 titles are announced. Sony didn;t panic and blow their wad at once......It is clear Nauhgty dog have been working on a ps4 title for a long time (Theya re two teams), and they always annoucne them at the vga's. Sony santa monica, GG new IP (2 team studio), media molecule, Sony Japan have new ps4 games coming, and MLB the show is alos 2014 the top rated sports franchise all last gen/././

 

lets not pretend great f2p titles and indies don't add variety and depth to a library, because they do.

The issue with MS games, we already played them on playstation, Forza?? we got GT. Prject spark? LBP called they want their game back. Dead rising? Mediocre franchise. Killer instinct? A downloadable fighter with a small roster of fighters? yeah.,

I never said that there aren't other exclusives coming for both consoles, but as far as we KNOW right now, the PS4 lineup sucks IMO.

To be honest both have GREAT launch line-ups and annoucned games coming. Right now for me the PS4 has more games I PREFER that's just me though. Iam not big on Halo, Forza and was never a Dead Rising fan so those don't really appeal to me. Not to say that they are bad games they are just not ones that I enjoy. Just like others did not enjoy KZ, Infamous, Uncharted etc.

What I do respect about your post though DirtyP is that you CLEARLY said in your opinion at the end. Which was fine not sure why you got the long reply that you did seeing as you CLEARLY said in your opinon but for me I respect your opinion.
