Thought I would never see the wii in the software charts again. Probably it's final farewell.

Let's hope Sonic gets a boost from the Wii-U's momentum in the USA; because Europe and Japan sure don't seem interested in the little blue hedgehog.

GTA V becomes the PS3's highest selling game.

PS3 software passes 82 million for the year.

PSP should pass 80 million within the next few weeks. Becoming the 8th platform to do so.

Also, Wii has the highest selling version of Skylanders, at least in the US.
Still quite a few active Wii owners, contrary to what the internet will tell you.

people never said anything to the contrary, its the TYPE of games these active users are still playing.

The intrnet is full of claims that Wii owners don't buy games anymore and "they're all in the cupboard gathering dust".

Yes the entire internet does claim that, and based on this site and every other sites numbers those facts seem to be born out.  Have you seen what nintendo's global software numbers have been the last couple yrs compared to sony/microsoft.  There is a very good reason that people believe that most wii's are sitting on shelfs collecting dust, it also doesnt help when nintendos follow up console is practicly ignored both in terms of software and hardware.

Nearly 400,000 units of Wii software sold on the week ending 12st October. That's for a console that's been replaced for a while now. Wiis are clearly not all "gathering dust". People not only still play them, they still buy new games for them.

most of those are sold during the holidays, while people buy and play games for the HD twins all year round. Doesnt make you wrong just making a point.

Was it the holidays for the week endng October 12th?

no but if you look at the games that sold alot were bundled older games. and the usual suspects Just Dance and Skylanders. That is a contrast to say the HD twins which sold more games (seperately) newer games, not as many of them were bundled. Not saying no one buys games on WIi just not as much as the other two. At not as much titles.

According to this site, there has been over 20 million units of Wii software sold this year so plenty of Wii owners buy games all year round

what were the best selling titles, how much of them werent bundled.

The Wii titles that have sold over 500,000 this year are

1. Just Dance 4-1,213,738

2. Wii Sports-714,131

3. Mario Kart Wii-692,536

4. Wii Sports Resort-646,690

5. New Super Mario Bros Wii-624,377

6. Skylanders Giants-528,156

im not sure what games have been bundled with Wii this year but Im guessing its these games I have listed and they only make up a little over 20% of Wii software sales.

5 of those are bundled (not sure about skylanders) but what are the other ones that make up the 500,000?

I wasn't comparing to the HD twins, I was simply commenting that Wii games still move units despite the conventional internet "wisdom" that nobody even touches their Wii any more. (No inyourendo intended ;) )

Now that global's up, we see Skylanders Wii did best worldwide as well.

Wii has sold 1.4m units of hardware this year, the 5 games u claim are bundled have sold just under 4m so the majority of there are not from bundles. Im not sure what the second part of ur post is asking
