Immature manchildren are people who take yer modern FPS and stories (and story delivery) like in Uncharted/God of War/insert pretentious hyperbole story with one-dimensional hero here seriously.  What's mentioned by the OP is a set of both better storytelling and better gameplay than what's generally AAA trash.

I liked Deus Ex , Elder Scrolls, GTA V, and Tomb Raider, so I don't really hate western games.

Some of my favorite games are from Valve and Eidos

you liked elder scrolls? to this day i still cant figure out how the hit detection works on that game.

as for the topic of the thread, trophy hunting is the way to go. dont bother sticking with a game for too long, all games get more disappointing the more time you spend with them. get the platinum and move on.

uh huh. I'd describe your words and behavior as contradictory though. You partake in almost solely hardcore games (dabble in Pokemans and Animal Crossing) and ignore most casual titles like Call of Duty, Assasin's Creed, and Madden. dudebros are almost always casual gamers.

How is CoD , AC and Madden the same type of games though? (even if you're joking) 

Jazz kinda covered it. Those games are all casual games, because they're all very mainstream.

Yep, gotta collect them all most of them, but the one above with the lovely pixel lady called Zanthia is not (yet) available on Steam, it's only on GOG atm.

I largely agree with the OP.

Gaming has become so cinematic and cynical. It's all about making an illusion, to trick the player he is doing something meaningful while it's basically interactive movies..

Gameplay is almost gone from mainstream games. I agree that Japanese game makers understand gameplay better, they focus more on gameplay.
