Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Q2 Earnings October 30th - Results Inside

So what numbers do you guys see Nintendo hitting for this fiscal year end in March? I think:

5 Million Wii U's (4 million under projection)

19 Million 3DS's (1million over projection thanks to 2DS and Pokemon)

Also, do any of you think the stock will approach $20/share by next August? I'm hoping to sell around then and I'm hoping it can reach that level.  Hopefully by then N will be making a profit on WiiU, 3DS will continue to make a healthy profit, and system selling games like Mario Kart and DK country will be out.

Remenber when they said that WW bundle increased wiiu sales by 150% in uk? well, seems like the number was negative so :P

Yet, to think this was worse before the bundle, man. So here we have: july: pikmin , august: NSLU, september: WW HD and W101. Result: -10K

Now we have: octuber: wii party(aka nothing) and controversial sonic, november: SM3DW, december: nothing. This for the hot season. January: wii fit(aka nothing), february: DKTF, march:???

And between November till February next generation will be the hot thing(lucky nintendo not in japan). Unless march ???? turns out to be mario kart, SMB, X, SMTxFE, Yoshi, Bayonnetta, GTA V port, i don't see how iwata will do it. Actually, even if all the games i mentioned came out in march i only see they getting 5million+ wiiu's.

One thing for sure: if they hit 100 billion yen, i will never doubt iwata ever again.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Wow, WWHD really did its job I see.

Financial hurt is the only thing that can shake a company out of dellusional behavior.

This is quite a pathetic showing for Wii U and its showing. Negative sales in Europe is hilarious, if you have a twisted sense of humor such as myself. At what point does reality set in that the Wii U is a disaster?

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

9m WiiU forecast is a joke and they know it, yet again they won't revise it and will simply miss it by millions like the Wii has these past few years. Basically their forecasts aren't worth the paper they're written on. Surprised they can get away lying like they do, as I no longer believe it's optimism on their part.

8.54m left over 2 quarters. With Europe obviously not remotely interested in WiiU (minus 20k?!) US will be more than half WiiU sales this holiday. So what, they're expecting 3m+ in the US?? Price cut + Zelda bundle + 5 week month and it didn't pass 100k, how do they think it's going to jump to 1.5m in November.

Good heavens, that Wii-U target is a pipedream.

3DS is going to be an interesting one to watch though. Reckon it'll at least get very, very close (whether it reaches it or not).

Minus shipments, though, is slightly amusing >.

Yeah, it was clear they would miss it after the first quarter when they only shipped 160k. But hey, at least some people still think 10mil this year is possible (or at least some did only a short while ago. Not sure if they had changed their stance since).

Zero thought 10m he's actually saying 10m+ now based on his 10 week predictions. Lucas is still expecting 12m and plenty of people in his thread agrees with him.

Basically they're expecting 650k a week starting now, until the end of the year.

I can see people think 1 of 2 ways.

Conservativly I would say people would think Nintendo misses their projection by 6mil. Optimisticly people would think Nintendo only misses it by 3mil.

I really don't think anyone would think it's missed by anymore or anyless and I think both people have some justifiction for their thought process. Me? I can see Nintendo missing it by 4.5mil-5mil. I tend to think more conservatively since I don't think retailers will allow as much units since nothing leading up to this point has hinted at a solid Q3 and last year Q3 units didn't move for a while.

Hopefully this will be a wake up call for Nintendo.

Wow... retailers better start clearing off shelves to make room for all those units.
