No, I mean, the WiiU's entire sales so far, is the 9m figure for 2012-2014 or just one year? Do the first 3m count?

Someone explain to me how Nintendo sold 140,000 more Wii U's and 600,000 more 3DS's yet had a greater operating loss than quarter 1. This does not make sense to me.

Ohhh, okay that makes sense... I'm pretty sure it's in the FY. so from March 2013 - March 2014
http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2013/04/24/nintendo-announces-fiscal-year-2013-report-fy-2014-projections/
Global unit sales for FY 2013 for the Wii U clocked in at 3.45 million, with 13.42 million units of software sold for the new console. Nintendo projects 9 million hardware units sold in FY 2014, with 38 million units of software.

The european shipment numbers are in brackets so they're negative, but you didn't specify any region anyway.
I see Nintendo fans still refuse to accept the truth.

Price cut and software sales
Going by the rule of thumb of "doubling Q4, Q1, and Q2 to estimate Q3" that would put the Wii U's shipments at 1.7mil. Now, that would be remarkably bad and I would expect much higher (at least 3)... However, at the same time going from 300k -> 3mil would be a massive increase and I'm not sure if the retailers would accept much more considering last year how long they sat around for after Christmas.
This seems pretty much in tune with the observations and tracking of VGChartz. The lack of significant 1st party software sales means lower income, and I would imagine there is some extra damage from Wii U due to the price cut. Q3 should be very solid with respectable Wii U sales and very strong 3DS sales. 9 million Wii U's for the year seems like a stretch, but they could exceed that for lifetime sales if things go well.

EDIT: Q2 Results are as followed: Operating Loss of 200 million (embarrassing) |
Can you please detail the OP. This is really stupid. Loss of 200 million... 200 milion what? Oranges?

3DS doing fantastic and hopefully WiiU has a great showing in quarter 3. Can't wait to see how 3DS sells come quarter 3. Those figures will be great.
