Basically Nintendo spent in Q2 200M more than what they earned in the same timeframe, excluding interests, taxes, currency exchanges and other stuff.

But Vinnie or Kowenicki can explain it way better than me.

Here's the Wikipedia article if it's of any help.

Wow it sounds complicated, I will eventually understand it as I'm going to study to be an accountant.

So it's quite bad! I hope they get a profit, I mean the 3DS is doing great! I am sure that this holidays they can turn the situation around! Thanks!

Operating loss of 200 million. May I ask what is that exactly? I have no idea of financials

Pure breakdown for the past three months:

this quarter they loss 187 million dollars in operating income...operating income is income or losses generated by sales  - expenses... basically day to day functions of the company and is a better barometer because nothing is skewed.

Net loss for Q2 is 81 million dollars... this accounts for taxes, currency, dividends, one time times and other items that can change this number easily

Both over tracked :-/

Next Quarter Nintendo going to Rockkk!

This one unless MH4 did alot (oh yea it did)....

It will be good for Capcom too because lord knows they need the money lol.

Anywho terrible quarter for Nintendo. This is what, the 7 or 8th quarter where they have registered losses since the new generation started?

3DS down y/y despite massive games in japan, new colors/models and no competition

Iwata is being disingenuous with his forecast for Wii U sales for March 2014. This quarter is already one month in, Donkey Kong delayed until next year, Mario releasing at the end of the month November, competition from two new consoles, the Wii, 360, PS3 and 2/3DS. The US had a government work stoppage for 18 days which zapped the US economy for a couple billion during the time frame...i mean i can go on and on

Current sales for new games already seem weak, i.e. Sonic in Europe, no hype for any of the Wii bread winners such as wii fit, just dance.

Somehow if he would pull it off more power to him but I think itll be an issue where retailers will not take that much in stock.

Anyone have an idea how Wii U will get another 8.5mil before next FY?

Wait, was that 9m forecast for the WiiU's entire lifetime? Or was it for one FY year only?

Do you think Nintendo expects to only sell 9mil lifetime? That would be an investor nightmare. since that is a no then that leaves the it for the quarter.

Outside another massive price cut (which im sure would make those who bought kinda mad, not to mention the hit on financials) a surprise release of Donkey Kong, Mario Kart and Smash Brothers or what ever they have for mid late 2014 in the next 5 months, who knows?

nintendo just need some time get better have good product too expensive
