Forums - Nintendo - 2DS gets price cut in UK after less than 2 weeks on sale!

I don't think this indicates bad sales, but rather just the usual UK price wars among retailers. This is just 10 pounds off and none of the retailers mentioned in the OP are including games. The only retailer that does is Argos and that's two DS games.

Talk about a dramatic OP.

people have to doom anything, 2DS going to be a beast this holiday so this doesn't faze me at all :0

The 2DS is probably the best dealbreaker this holiday to get potential shoppers into your store.. Not surprising they are all very agressive with it.. Mom gets into the store and does most of her holiday shopping in the same store while also picking up a 2DS..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I'm sure 2DS is going to sell very well, getting below £100 makes it look like an absolute bargin and impulse buy territory so it's no surprise retailers have opted for that price.

The question is, can we trust VGChartz to have accurate numbers?

Can we really trust anything?

You can trust me.  ^_^

For example, if you look at my Playstation Network ID signature.  The game in the picture.  That game sucks.  Stay away from it.  *edit*

By this definition 3DS had a pricecut before it even released, since I preordered it off of Amazon for 220€ incl. game back in 2011.

Seriously though, it's just a sale by some stores. Nothing unusual here. Just like how some people preordered PS4 for 379$ or WiiU for 330$. Doesn't mean that their price was cut or that their sales/preorders were bad.

Add me if you like!

Ask me about 3DS Friend Code if interested. All other things are in the profile!

I am planning to get it, though. I like cheesy games, even if they're bad. Especially since it have an offline co-op campaing, which is a huge plus in my book ^^

Also, you didn't like Mass Effect! (Haven't played 3 and didn't like 2 that much, but c'mon, first one wasn't THAT bad!).

Or maybe it's because I enjoy games in general, even if they're horrible from almost every perspective <(n_n<)

Well 2ds to play 3d games? I guess it will do better during the holidays as cheap kid gift.

Switch!!!

I talked with my local Gamestop manager (Missouri, United States) and he says that they don't stay in the store for long at all when they get them. Apparently they sell well in my area (St. Louis).

I can tell you that its the shops and supermarket chains locking horns for your hard earned cash in the run up to Christmas. This isnt about 2DS selling badly, its these chains wanting you to spend money in their stores.

It's most likely about the 2DS selling badly. If it was selling well there would be no need to reduce the system, the Christmas reductions haven't started yet (usually Sainsburys in particular knock 25% off all systems in November/December).

Obviously if one place takes the plunge, the rivals tend to follow. But there's no way they'd choose to sell it cheaper AND bundle 2 games if they didn't have to. Just bundling a game with it for £109.99 would be attention grabbing right now.

I was utterly shocked when I saw a billboard advertising this offer today.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
