Forums - Gaming - Annoying things that gamers do/say

What annoys me is when gamers act like nothing needs to change with a new iteration of a game.

Around the Network

People that go off topic when they lose an argument.
Gamers that are ashamed to play Nintendo or "kid" games
People that seriously want a company to go down, and imo, those people need help.

Nintendo and PC gamer

I hate it when gamers complain about reviews, saying that 6, 7 or even an 8 equal a bad game and that they are cancelling there pre order before trying it themselves.

I get annoyed of gamers afraid of change

I also hate when gamers talk about sales and how well a certain game has sold compared to another and thus makes them feel superior because there brand or game is doing well.

i DISPISE the word "lazy", when most gamers know nothing of game development and call devs that.

the word "console wars".....watch kyle bosman episode on gametrailers for why that word is silly.

I definitly dislike doom talk in general.

I really, really hate fanboyism... To say that something (game or console) sucks just because it's from another company is just... wrong. And that applies the other way around as well: when "your" preferred can't do anything wrong.

Damnit, get over yourself!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

My least favorite, these days, is people attributing poor reviews to player incompetence.

Especially over the past year, and especially regarding games on one system in particular, reviewer's criticism of inconsistent difficulty spikes or bad design are met with things like ""lol reviewer sucks and doesn't know how to play REAL games."

Sonic Lost World just came out, and one of the recurring criticisms is the lives system, and how changes to the game's mechanics (such as rings not giving lives any more and inconsistent jumping mechanics) make the game overly punishing. The response, predictably, is "lol complaining about rings in Sonic" or "probably hates Dark Souls too lol" or "looks like reviewer can't play a game that doesn't play itself lol."

Also, people who think this industry has to be about fun. Partly because that thinking limits the industry as a whole, and party because some of these people have a tendency to be arrogant, ignorant, or both.

Also, "lol."

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

1. People who tout their opinion as fact.
2. Hyperbole (Honestly guys, leave it to the PR departments)
3. I had another one, but forgot. If there are any psychics on vgchartz, please help.

Gamers that say, "The PC version completely destroys the console version," but their PC can't run anything on Max settings.

Gamers that say, "My PC completely destroys the next gen console specs! The next gen consoles are disappointing," But they spent well over $1,000.00 on their PC.

Gamers that are clearly biased toward one system/company, but go into threads faking concern for a console they've trashed in the past.

Gamers/sheep that use Metacritic in any argument about a game's quality, or lack thereof.

Serious or just playing off of mine?  I personally think the opposite is more annoying because it's more prevalent with the community and not very many people actually think nothing new should be in a new iteration.

100% agree on that one. What is a console war anyway? Are there vacuum, and dishwasher wars as well?
