My least favorite, these days, is people attributing poor reviews to player incompetence.

Especially over the past year, and especially regarding games on one system in particular, reviewer's criticism of inconsistent difficulty spikes or bad design are met with things like ""lol reviewer sucks and doesn't know how to play REAL games."

Sonic Lost World just came out, and one of the recurring criticisms is the lives system, and how changes to the game's mechanics (such as rings not giving lives any more and inconsistent jumping mechanics) make the game overly punishing. The response, predictably, is "lol complaining about rings in Sonic" or "probably hates Dark Souls too lol" or "looks like reviewer can't play a game that doesn't play itself lol."

Also, people who think this industry has to be about fun. Partly because that thinking limits the industry as a whole, and party because some of these people have a tendency to be arrogant, ignorant, or both.

Also, "lol."

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.
