I can't stand how people rant and rave that whatever the current COD or BF game is "THE GREATEST FPS EVER RELEASED WITHOUT A DOUBT !!!!!111!!1" every year a new one is released. Really gets on my nerves. It's as if a new COD / BF game just completely trumps DooM, Half Life 2, Goldeneye, System Shock 2, Quake etc. every year it is released, yet these same people just quit the "best game ever" and move on to the next annualization.  Gets soooo old hearing / reading that.

It annoys me when you ask for help and the only responses you get are:
"That part was easy, I got it on the first try, can't really remember what I did."
"Just hit it with (can't get until new game++ maxed out uber 1 hit kill) ... sword."
"Your character sucks, why would you want to play with that."

The notion that couch co-op is not real multiplayer.

People that boot you off for not using a mic.

"What a waste, that game should have been a next-gen launch game." I guess as soon as next-gen is announced we should all stop playing until we have the new consoles?

When, in trying to prove how good a game looks, people post pictures of faces close-up. (I see it a lot around here) Sorry, but that's 0.001% of the game and therefore irrelevant.

X has no games.

Every console has games.

That's the same for me with racing games. PR shots are always close up shots of cars with a blurry background, not how 99% of the game looks while actually playing it. But look at all those polygons on that tailpipe....

4. "The eye can only see 24fps." This argument needs to be dead and in hell.

5. Bad review scores for GTA V because the reviewer was put off by the violence. When did the gaming media turn into Jack Thompson?

I hate petty nostalgia like that. Of course memories of playing games as an eight-year-old are remembered more fondly than as an angsty teenager or an adult with responsibilities.

The reason that argument is bad is because it's incomplete.  What it means is that it's at that rate where our eye can discern the frames from each other, but we can definitely see the difference between 30 and 60.
