I didn't like the look of it from the first gameplay videos, and it looks like the things I didn't like the look of aren't being well received by some critics.

Still, it's a Sonic game it'll be under £20 in a few week so I'll try it then XD

Sonic can never get a break. :(

I will rent it and get a feel for myself... but one thing is clear from watching different walkthrough of this game: if the player sucks at controlling Sonic, the game seems boring, broken and too difficult; if the player is good at controlling Sonic, the gameplay and level design seems fine and the game seems fun.

If you compare these two playthrough videos and then watch Gamespot's video review, it's clearly visible that the reviewer just sucks at controlling Sonic and understandably he didn't like the game and found it too difficult.

Metacritic has 14 positive reviews and only 4 negative ones so far. And one of the reviews is a 9/10! I guess those sub-5/10 reviews really weigh the average down...

What are we supposed to think?

Huh, didn't see that coming in a million years.

For Sonic Colors, the game that broke the Sonic cycle, he gave it a 4.5 (Sega even gave him a cake and a 10 foot Sonic Colors banner poking fun of him for it ).

There's some folks out there who really enjoyed it. Some folks who didn't enjoy it at all, and some who thought it was an average experience. Only one way to find out personally.

Still this games getting mix reviews, just like Beyond Two Souls.

Its obvious Sonic Lost World will no longer be a meaningful system seller for Nintendo. It really needed stellar reviews from the biggest sites. Instead it got mediocre to bad reviews. Yes, there are some good reviews but the publications posting those are just too small to reach the audience Gamespot and IGN reach.

As I see it, that exclusivity deal with Sega was a waste of money for Nintendo. I also wondered why this game was nowhere to see in the US Nintendo Direct, as i would've thought it would be a flagship exclusive for WiiU for the month of october.

Its worth noting that Sonic is really the brainchild of Hirokazu Yasuhara whom now works for Nintendo. I honestly believe he needs to return as producer for Sonic to be a darling among the gaming media as a whole.

Flop then? this is bad news...I knew alot of people were expecting this to help sell the WiiU.
