So I haven't seen any japanese cartoons since DBZ and samurai x, and didn't particularly enjoy any other cartoon at all, apart of ren and stimpy and family guy, because it's hilarious.

Anyway, I have a friend telling me that this new cartoon is great and reminiscent of the dragon ball quality. Any impressions from anybody in here ? Were can I watch it ?

I myself never really liked dragon ball (I was into dragon ball z) but attack on titan is a epic anime you should watch it.

Well ... I don't really know how to answer that. It's like asking if A Game of Thrones is as good as The Avengers. DBZ is entertaining, yes, but it has all the depth of a limp turtle. It's also exceedingly slow and quite predictable, whereas events in Titan can kick your expectations in the teeth within seconds.

I'll just say that Attack on Titan is a very good series and quite a ride.

Both completely different, DBZ is like Naruto/Bleach/One Piece/Etc

attack on titans is an EPIC F***ING ANIME EVERYBODY NEEDS TO WATCH, (one piece is still my favorite though!)

though AoT is very good..it has a alot to do to be considered one of the greatest animes of all time; a category to many where DBZ stands.

They are both totaly different. I loved DBZ as a kid, so many fond memories of that show.

But Attack on Titan is much more deep and mature while DBZ is more of a popcorn anime where all that matters is how high Goku's power level is getting.

Well, Attack on Titans anime is not bad since they are not censoring as much as I thought they would compared to the manga. The 2 are very different though, AoT is way darker next to DB, it's more for older people.
