Well they don't spend hours and hours standing around yelling while their power level goes up so yeah, much better than dragon ball Z.

Dragon Ball has some of the most iconic characters in the history of anime. It is great to watch purely from nostalgia alone. The world is also brimming with Toriyama's brilliance.

AoT is fun to watch but doesn't compare with Dragon Ball in any way. It's very modern in its taste and follows similar tropes from anime you'd find today. Production levels are VERY high. Story is disappointingly simple and can get predictable, but once again, fun to watch.

I don't like saying it but I think Assault on Titan will not reach the same cult status as other series. It doesn't have the hook of Death Note or its impact, it doesn't have iconic characters like Evangelion, no extreme gore like Elfen Lied - crap anime, I'm not giving it any sort of praise here -. It has great production values, some very good action and a nice world...but it's missing the sort of thing that hits cult status.

I dont know if Elfen Lied has really hit cult status. Anyways Attack on Titan is the hot anime right now that everyone in the anime community is talking about or have watched. I think the last big thing was Swords Arts Online but i dont know if that anime hit cult status since it was generally mix received, but AoT reception has been overal positive. So i think it can reach the same cult status as other series. 

I honestly don't see it going that far. I've seen other similar anime get positive results without becoming that important in the long run and Attack on Titan doesn't feel that important honestly. It won't redefine anime as a whole since it doesn't have anything THAT important going on in it and it's not that extreme as a whole. I'm not saying it's bad...just that it doesn't feel as big as it should be. And most of the reason why it's gathering such praise at the moment is due mostly to the art style rather than characters - Eren is far from a Shinji or a Goku or a Light or even a Guts - or story - 10 episodes and the story feels very much similar to Starship Troopers in a way -.

Again, it's far from a bad anime, there are a lot of those. Just that I don't believe in the long run that it will become as memorable as people think it will.

So after this thread, I direct my self to watch Attack of the Titans, dunno why people are saying this anime is great best anime eva!!, and that sorta things, I'm episode 14 and so far is in my opinion is just an annoying very annoying anime, most of the time all the character are yelling and crying almost all episodes so far, in one point I said to myself with all that crying , yelling and how cowards they feel, if they focus all that energy instead of feeling useless all freaking time I think they would win already against the titans, also there are alot of useless speeches, all the time again on how they feel so useless to human kind. In the end so far I see from this, this is anime is just cliche as other animes outhere(no all of them), "I'm weak emotionally cry, cry,cry, and suddenly grabs energy from nowhere and Now I'm so strong I can destroy everything"

Still im at episode 14 , I will create my final judgement until the last episode.
