Forums - Nintendo - Ubisoft Working On Secret Games For Nintendo Wii

just a question: what cmpany is not working on "secret" (i.e. not yet officially announced) games at any given point in time? I assume some will always be for Wii as well, hence any company developing for Wii is working on secret Wii games.

A bad company. Seriously though, i imagine this is only getting run do to it being so close to GDC 2008.

I'd expect a Wii annoucement there of some rehased to death franchise.   Considering the talk of adventure... and games with swords... i'd guess a new prince of persia.

Please PLEASE be BG&E2....

But I'll take a new Rayman platformer, too.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

As long as they don't come up with more crappy ports, and come on ... put some love in your Wii games Ubisoft :D, show that you really care for Wii owners

If by "secret" you mean "unannounced", then you could say most third party developers have a secret Wii project or three in the works. Ubi is especially certain to have a few, since they were one of the only third parties to strongly back the Wii launch, but have since been surprisingly quiet. Has Red Steel 2 even been officially announced yet?

I never thought of it that way, but now that I do, there hasn't been a single solid hardcore game on the Wii that has sold notably less than expected. Admittedly you won't exactly run out of fingers while counting them, but the effort/success ratio is one of the strongest in history. Guess that just shows how demand for quality third party games is way over the current supply.

a new rayman platformer would make me happy

^^Manhunt 2, but that looked like a dumb game anyways.

Manhunt 2 sold poorly because it's a terrible, shovelware title.

It wasn't shovelware. They put a lot of time and effort into the game. It just sucked.

I actually only pointed it out because you said to name a "hardcore" game (not whether it was good or not) that sold poorly, so I did.

I agree that all decent "hardcore" games have sold very well on the Wii. The only thing, is that there are other users ("casuals") who also own a Wii, so people end up seeing high MP8 sales, and then claiming that "Wii doesn't sell to the hardcore".

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

Oh hell, that would be great. I like Beyond Good&Evil.

It will be quite a disappointment if it's just Red Steel 2. I say that only because we already know they're making it. I'm sure that quality wise it will actually be quite good now that it's known how to make great FPS controls on the Wii.

My hope would be a Rayman platformer in which he takes on the rabbids , which would make a lot of sense when you combine the influence of Mario Galaxy with the interest in the Rabbid IP.

A beyond Good and Evil sequel seems unlikely given the not so great sales of the first game, but if you are going to release a "Zelda tribute game", it does make sense to release it on the system with the Zelda fans.

Of course, all of our predictions so far revolve around the concept of Ubisoft actually trying to produce high quality Wii games. They might just be making Nitrobike 2: Big Rig Racing edition.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
