FFVI remade for iOS/Android

I have to say, I expected that Final Fantasy VI would be the next entry to get an iOS/Android release, since both IV and V were brought to the mobile phone market, and the fact that next year is the 20th anniversary of FF VI. I'm actually about to buy FF V for my phone, since the anthology version has some glitches when I play it on my PSP.

To be completely honest, I would prefer it if Square-Enix concentrated its development efforts on their new titles (especially completing FF XV and Kingdom Hearts III), rather than on major console remakes of games that were fine to begin with (e.g., Final Fantasy VII).

Bombard there twitter page with hate. They must not be hearing the fans screaming at them.

*Sigh* I don't wanna live on this planet anymore.

This mobile gaming crap has to die... I wouldn't mind it if it existed next to real gaming platforms, but when dedicated platforms get ignored in favour of this crap, that' just too much. Seriously SE, get you shit together or you can go bust for all I care.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I'm guessing you didn't see the pictures in the other thread.  With what they did to it, I wouldn't buy it.  I'm sure there are plenty of good  games you haven't played on the DS or PSP you can purchase instead of paying for an overpriced iOS remake that the dev shit all over.  I'd be happy to lend my expertise on the matter if it meant that Square Enix wouldn't be gaining a sale that told them "please keep releasing these shitty remakes."

I have seen pictures and gameplay videos of the V re-release.  Having played through the original game before, the changes to V don't really bother me (I wouldn't buy it if it was my first time playing the game).  Still, I shouldn't have said "about to buy"; I'll likely wait for it to go on sale before I decide, because I agree that $16 is too much.

Well.  Since you have the digital release on PSN already, and more than likely another version or two, why not just emulate the GBA version on your PSP?

The GBA version has the SNES graphics, more content, and there's a patch to fix the sound and make it sound like the SNES music and sound rather than the lower quality sound that's on there.

it seems square-enix is asking for someone to buy them down the road, like giving a subtle hint with this shit of announcement.

...is there a patch that also returns the old translation? And is there the same kind of patch for FF VI?

If there is, it'd be awesome... damn, I was disappointed when I heard it from my TV (GBA flashcart/Gameboy player for Gamecube). It was sheer horror.

Square Enix is shit.  That is all.  Oh, and I noticed this.

For instance grinding was an issue and people had to spend a lot of time leveling up. Now on the mobile devices the battle systems have been adjusted so you don't have to fight as much and can enjoy the game for what it is.

What?  There was no grinding on Final Fantasy 6.  The game was easy.  There was only grinding if you're a complete dumbass.  Not only do they remake it for a shitty platform, they dumb the game down so it's not even worth playing.

The original English release was dumbed down for English audiences. They're talking about the much more difficult Japanese version.

Edit: Oh people in this thread dumb.
